    I think what i really like is the "real or natural"feel too your videos. It's like you are just talking to friends. Not constipated, scripted or staged... think that is what makes your videos great. Sets them aside from ther rest.

      That is such a big compliment! We definitely try our best to keep it real, even though talking to a camera can feel a bit unnatural at times. Thank you for always watching and supporting us❤️

    Your attention to detail is brilliant eg the wire grooves 👍

    • @popette13

      This is exactly what I came to comment! Everyone else builds an additional floor with a spacer for wires but that's wasted space and more weight - this is very efficient!

    To make your hole saws last longer once your hole outline is cut drill two small holes in the groove the teeth make,it helps the hole saw stay cooler and allows saw dust to escape an extra step but it works

    Nice wood work, I really like the Ford Transit vans. I am thinking of building one for myself next year after our cross country trip in our motorhome. I really loved my Chevy Express van I built a few years ago and took it on a 6 month cross country trip. Your van build is giving me some great ideas for my build. Thank You! 👍🏻😊

    Great video Y’all. Love the tip RE kitchen cabinet ventilation. Good stuff! I’m going slow with my decisions which is a pain but at the same time it’s allowing me to really grasp all my options. I have a 2019 Ram ProM 159. I absolutely love it but really ready to start doing the build out. 🙏 . MaryAnn

I think the intro sets a fun tone on the van build series as well! 👍😍💪👏🎉

    Question for you guys, how do you insure your van? and how does your client plan on insuring their van? I'm starting my own build in two months and would love to have the insurance sorted by the time i buy the van so i can take it directly to home depot instead of using a second vehicle. any tips or tricks would be hugely helpful. love the channel and especially the build series, thanks guys.

    ❤️ your videos. We love your ideas. We want to build a van in the future. Currently we’re travel with a trailer and truck, but love how stealth camper vans are for more metropolitan areas. We also want to build a van for our son while he goes to grad school. Maybe we could get in on our next round of builds 🤞🏼

    hi, quick question - what material did you use for the boards? looks like 18mm Birch ply? or is it poplar? or that super-expensive "furniture board"? thank you!!

  • @gianttravelsbyvan9670
    @gianttravelsbyvan9670 3 года назад +2

    After a solid setup and design, hopefully you are attaching this in the van with no less than lots of 1/4" or larger stainless steel bolts directly into Plusnuts or Rivnuts set in the steel van ribs, and steel angle brackets with bolts through the plywood. Very few people consider the stresses in even a low speed accident, and you don't want those cabinets tearing loose and injuring the occupants...
    There's a reason every commercial van with shelving in the back has it attached this way: occupant safety.

    What do you recommend for hardware to secure the cabinets to the van wall and roof? Do you pre-drill the wood and use self tapping sheet metal screws? Do you install backing boards first and then mount the cabinets to the backing boards? Sorry for all the questions, but this is all new for me. Thanks

    I'm curious, to the vans have a weight limit they have to stay under? In the UK our Drivers license and the vans can only weigh upto 3.5T(7000lb ish), do you have a limit that you need to stick to?

    • @kensiewest
      @kensiewest  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, it’s definitely important to stay under the vehicles weight capacity. The transit can carry a load of 3500 lbs.

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider 5 лет назад

      @@kensiewest 3500lb is not including the weight of the van though?

    • @kensiewest
      @kensiewest  5 лет назад +1

      Correct. That is the payload, not the gross weight. It is not an issue with driver’s license here, more so just for the longevity of the vehicle itself.

    Hi Kenzie
    I sent a detailed message last week but I’m not sure if it went through.
    I am interested in hiring you guys to finish a build out on a 2019 Dodge Promaster hi roof! It has some electrical pretty much finished, fan installed, all the windows I could possibly need, insulation, floor (but I want to change it) bed (you will laugh! But it works)
    It had an blonde un sealed butcher block counter, 3 burner gas, sink, fridge and the start of some cabinets which I didn’t care for.
    I took the sink, butcher block and stove out 😬 I can fill you in on why and what I was thinking. I just need you guys to take over and do your thing. I’ve seen plenty to know I will only need to tell you what’s important and not important to me and let you guys take over. U won’t need to go over every little thing once we decide but all good if you need to! I’m pretty relaxed and I totally trust you both. Sounds weird but i know it’s good. The seller was amazing and so diligent in his work on the van and in all the financials but cabinetry isn’t his specialty...electrical almost finished...you get the just of it.
    I have 2 small awesome dogs Lola and Mocha so I want to have something for them built in, need an office area and I want a HUGE skylight. If I could make the entire roof open I would! But it would mess with the solar and fan I guess 😝
    YOU GUYS BLOW IT ALL AWAY!
    OMG. your talent, attention to detail and experience with all aspects of the build is unbelievable.
    Your gift is rare especially at your ages. Just be sure to “hold the reins tight” so to speak. There are a lot of good people out there and plenty of not so good and I learned the hard way when I went through a major positive experience in my life.
    Anyway enough of that!
    Can I call you directly? Email? I could send my cell phone number through email but don’t really want to post here! Not that anyone cares about it but basically not the best idea. Guess I could leave an email...supermail1@consultant.com thought I would give Mail.com a try instead of gmail or the other more common ones. Funny I’m not a consultant and thought supermail sounded good! 😂 Thank you so much! Hope to hear soon!! Deanna

      That was my question, as well. I will be having a new work van, but cutting overall weight, as well as weight balance ( driver side is always the heavy side on most contractor's vans )
      Has there been any consideration to combining wood with metal with poly engineered panels ?
