Great interview guys, thanks a lot. As a long time MK fan since MK2 in the 90's I can genuinely say that MK1 is one of the best MK games ever made, with the way they made the characters, the story, the gameplay and single player content, I had an absolute blast playing it. MK1 is truly PHENOMENAL!

Theories on what the BIG Easter Egg will be: Since MK's story is jumping into the Multiverse (like any other franchise), anything is possible. But I hope we may see any of these (most likely making a small non-playable appearance in the Khaos Reigns Story): -A DC Character, or the full Justice League -Ryu from Street Fighter (hinting at a crossover game) -Ed Boon himself lol
Since Boon do tends in making reboot. I definitely down for Shaolin Monk 2 or even a remaster will be great. Personally, that game got me playing over and over even though the dubbed was the same for for different character.

It feels like Mortal Kombat 1 could be a live service type game. I see the trends going in gaming right now. DragonBall Xenoverse 2 is still getting new content and that came out forever ago. I think MK1 has finally reached its apex as a gaming experience after such a shaky launch. Things broke here or there and they do well to fix it. Now the game feels complete and is an awesome experience. I would like to see a year 3 as well. Just keep adding to it for years. I would be very happy with it. Then do Injustice 3 next while still adding to MK1
They definitely need to fix Invasions and the reward system if they want it to be more successful. It's mobile game grindy and I'm hoping with Khaos Reigns they do plenty for the Single Player content and give us more modes to mess around with.

They at least made some of the challenges a bit harder that teaches you how to play the game especially if you are someone like me that kind of struggles with the Kameo system this season with Kombo challenges that are easier than the ones in Tutorial. I hope they add an option to turn off the Kameo system down the line
I mean we are past the era where it was acceptable to release a new game every 4 years. People pay way to much money for these games nowadays and the graphical/gameplay innovations just arent that eye popping. So people rather want continuous support. Thats my only critique with DBFZ and Smash Ultimate. Those games had way more life in them. Although I guess if released now they would maybe have gotten more support like every fighting game seems to be aiming for these days.
Traditionally, the secret characters have always been ninjas. So most likely they finally make Khrome. And of course it's safe to say, Khrome will be female.
I feel like any sort of reboot to a story is weak storytelling. Moving the base story forward with new villains, elements, realms, details or twists and turns is much more interesting. No need to ever think about retelling the same story. just think like they did when they made MK 2. Keep expanding and making the lore more complex and deeper. But that might be difficult when you want to make a series continue on forever instead of having a definite end.
Please ed boons, listen to ur fans… make mortal kombat fast and kombo heavy like mkx. The last two mortal kombats have been extremely slow. The inputs have to be absurdly fast and precise. People the inputs are too strict in a way that it voids combos from happening and its just not fun. I dont suck st the game and im not the only one saying this. Maxdoo has issues with the inputs too. Now, tekeda is Amazing ! I hope this is the turn around because the characters this season again were not fun to use. As always the story is awesome and keeps getting better. I really like the doc characters and keep this stuff coming but the gameplay has dropped severely since mkx

@@SpiralSkylines in mkx and mk11 you coulds use online practice to test out lots of things with someone and try out tactics in actual scenarios also you could just messs around with no rounnds and waiting for loading etc after each fight also i got taught alot by various people online who were so kind to help me this is what online practice so its vital for coaches and pupils.

Not gonna happen. Guest Characters broaden the appeal and they are there to entice casual players to buy the content. Just be happy its not all guest characters. They got a nice balance going 3 guests and 3 MK characters. When are people like you ever going to get it that guest characters are a marketing strategy. They will never stop including them.

Ed Boon and Netherrealm have bosses my friend and besides Hogwarts Legacy MK1 is the only successful game under the WBD banner and they are following suit with the trend in the industry. I keep seeing these complaints like yours but listen man welcome to gaming in the year 2024. Especially fighting games. Tekken 7 it was well over 200 dollars for everything in that game and it was the previous generation. Gaming is heading towards live service just getting more and more add ons. Its where we are at man. Get used to it. Every game now that is popular is gonna be costing anywhere between 200 and 250 dollars now.

The issue with this game is the lack of content amongst other things. This game has really been a disappointment.

Please ed boons, listen to ur fans… make mortal kombat fast and kombo heavy like mkx. The last two mortal kombats have been extremely slow. The inputs have to be absurdly fast and precise. People the inputs are too strict in a way that it voids combos from happening and its just not fun. I dont suck st the game and im not the only one saying this. Maxdoo has issues with the inputs too. Now, tekeda is Amazing ! I hope this is the turn around because the characters this season again were not fun to use. As always the story is awesome and keeps getting better. I really like the doc characters and keep this stuff coming but the gameplay has dropped severely since mkx
The thing is video games now will never be as fun, the exciting part was to grind and look for secret characters instead of buying them.

@@SpiralSkylines in mkx and mk11 you coulds use online practice to test out lots of things with someone and try out tactics in actual scenarios also you could just messs around with no rounnds and waiting for loading etc after each fight also i got taught alot by various people online who were so kind to help me this is what online practice so its vital for coaches and pupils.

Not gonna happen. Guest Characters broaden the appeal and they are there to entice casual players to buy the content. Just be happy its not all guest characters. They got a nice balance going 3 guests and 3 MK characters. When are people like you ever going to get it that guest characters are a marketing strategy. They will never stop including them.

Ed Boon and Netherrealm have bosses my friend and besides Hogwarts Legacy MK1 is the only successful game under the WBD banner and they are following suit with the trend in the industry. I keep seeing these complaints like yours but listen man welcome to gaming in the year 2024. Especially fighting games. Tekken 7 it was well over 200 dollars for everything in that game and it was the previous generation. Gaming is heading towards live service just getting more and more add ons. Its where we are at man. Get used to it. Every game now that is popular is gonna be costing anywhere between 200 and 250 dollars now.

Yes they have bosses but both ed boon and John Tobias has a huge part in creative direction. I understand there is other fighting games like tekken. If I was complaining about tekken then I would go to a tekken video. That’s why my complaint are all purely Mortal Kombat.
