Keeping the essence of a song intact and then making it your own and being so lovely is an extremely difficult task and then you nail it. No effects on you voice and only a touch of reverb, not any kind of fixing. It’s just you and that mic and 90% of that is your voice alone.
What I love about Rumer's voice is the abundant and obvious soft luscious side, mingled with a humble earnestness, and the last facet is a certain dusty weariness that hits me deep. She has an ache and a tiredness in her voice on certain notes that is where the strength in her voice is. Somehow, it speaks to my tired body after a day's work.
I have been a big fan of Mr. Bacharach and Mr. David since the 1960's or 1970's, cant remember the year for sure. This arrangement and performance are great. Loved it!!
