@AManHas NoName thats true he used to scream without proper technique which could hurt his voice, here he is using fry screams which tend to have a higher pitch. in certain songs such as the price is wrong and church burner if im not mistaken he layers a lower gutteral false chord scream. i agree that if he did that here in parts it would be a lot more powerful

Sponce has evolved and only gotten better as a vocalist with time! Reptile really exhibited his growth and I was ABSOLUTELY blown away hearing him! But imo I don't think he was ever really "bad". Inexperienced or perhaps rough around the edges, maybe, but not "bad. Still these new vocals on this classic track is *Italian kiss* for me

P1 was originally supposed to be an instrumental album. Spencer didn't come into the picture until weeks before release, so he had the hard task of creating vocals/lyrics over the instrumentals. Not only were the songs created without vocals in mind, he had such little time to do all of it. Impressive what he pulled off though, but it definitely would be better with a redo, especially with how much he's improved. Too bad they aren't willing to do it
Spencer got a lot of flack for p1 but what people fail to realize is that those songs and vocal melodies weren’t his, they were originally Chris barretto’s Then of course Chris left periphery for personal differences and was in monuments So Spencer came in on a time crunch and no time to re write all the songs so he had to perform If someone was to ask me where to start when first listening to periphery, I’d say start with P2

Man, this is great stuff. I truly hope Periphery re-release P1 with these re-recorded vocals. All they'd have to do is remix and remaster the existing instruments and use Spencer's redone vocals and it would sound incredible, not to mention be a hell of a lot easy than releasing another album hot off the heels of P4.
Instead of a full recording which they won’t do, just as is, they could intermittently record these songs again as they each want to try out new parts. That might take five years but they could then put it together as a release in case anyone wanted ‘P1:P2 but P1 This Time It’s P1’

Spencer decided to throw up the vocals for practice purposes a few months ago. Misha combined it with the original guitar tracks for our listening pleasure. They are in the process of making the next album(no re-releases planned).
this is awesome, but it goes to show what a good producer Misha was to make Spencer's voice fit perfectly 15 years ago before he even really found his real voice. Though i love this re-recording, the OG has so much more nostalgia for me.
His voice sounds more pure now but I still really like the raw sound of his voice on P1. I probably prefer his screaming voice on P1 over now but this is absolutely amazing! I’d say the smoothness of his clean voice now makes up for the not as aggressive distorted voice anyway!
Shit, they better do a fucking P1 reboot with Sencer's vocals redone...perhaps throw in some tasty bonus tracks or a little special sauce spritzed throughout. I'd pay for that.
