I had an experience with Thor when i was training in the gym. I was attempting a rep record for myself. I was going for 8 reps. I got to 7 and the 8th rep got half way up then slowly started to drop. I was losing strength fast. I closed my eyes and said "Mighty Thor please lend me ur power". I then felt this overwhelming feeling and i opened my eyes and threw up that 8th rep like it was weightless, without stopping mind u o was fighting it the whole time. I know and feel in my heart that Thor came to me and helped me push thru. Ever since i have dedicated every workout to Thor and havent had a bad workout since. Every time i got for a max lift i dedicate the lift to Thor in hopes that Thor appreciates my show of strength

Similar experiences whilst training (Old Style Shotokan Karate) many experiences of Thorr's presence. The most strongly when I was fighting a succession of younger (I'm in my 60's) very strong opponents, ended up being floored several times, but struggled up and kept fighting time after time. I really became aware of Thorr's presence and approval, every time I stood and fought on I had this real sense of Him standing with me.
At the close of the training I was held up as an example of fighting spirit and toughness, almost heard Thorr's shout of approval as a physical thing.

My patron deity without a doubt. I think it's helpful that you mentioned the elephant in the room, which is what to do with offerings after their use.
I never felt I should pour them down the drain, it would feel disrespectful. I would instead take them out and pour them by the backyard tree as a symbolic way of letting my offerings take root and help nourish Yggdrasil.

It's more than a coincidence that I was thinking back to an experience I had involving foul weather, and came across your comment.
My wife and I were inside because some very unpleasant storm cells were passing through. We were watching on live radar and a potential tornado was forming up several miles from us, heading right for us. I have a ceremonial Mjolnir that I made and use in rituals to do Hammer Hallowing (energetically cleansing and defining the space in which I seek to commune with our Gods), and my eye fell on it and an idea formed. I took up my Mjolnir and went outside into the storm. I stood in the shape of the algiz/elhaz rune, faced the dark clouds I could see forming, and with Mjolnir in my right hand, I traced the Hammer Sign in the air. I called out to Thor, the Thunderer, the Master of lightning, the Protector of Asgard and Midgard. I asked that he hear from a household of Heathens, that was in harm's way. I asked that he spare a measure of his Strength to split apart the churning cloud and dissipate it. I pointed Mjolnir at the cloud over and over and sought to "mark the target." This is no shit, the dark cloud that had started to turn into a tornado, coming right at my homestead, began to take on a ragged appearance, and looked as though it was being pulled apart. The 2 parts became even more ragged looking and started to thin and spread out as they came over the trees about 100 yards away. It was as though the storm parted around the property. This was confirmed by my wife who had the radar picture on the phone the whole time. There was a few minutes delay between real time events and their appearance on the radar. We both watched the "radar's eye view," enlarged to see details like roads and streams, of the tornado cell splitting apart and dissipating as it approached the road, then passing on either side of an area that included my property and several others. I had very excitedly told her what I saw and then we watched the confirmation on radar. Helluva coincidence, if that's what it was...and this is the first time anyone from outside the household has had the opportunity to hear this. Hail Thorr, the People's God!

So where are you from? Because i had an experience of my own the other day relating to the severe weather coming through. Im from NC. I went out around 3 or 4 and the wind was kickin' pretty good. I had already decided a few days ahead of time that I'd leave Thor an offering for protection. So i got a beer and headed out to my altar out in the woods. I poured some on the altar, talked to Thor and said a prayer asking him to keep the weather from being too severe. Asking him to protect my home, keep the power from going out and to protect everyone in the surrounding areas as well. I finished what i was saying and put the beer down onto the ground. As soon as i had finished the wind that had been blowing strong and steady just abruptly stopped right as i concluded my offering. I literally said to myself well that's a good sign lol. It stayed calm and quiet with no wind for 30 seconds to a minute or so. I felt like it was Thor's way of letting me know he got the message. I didn't get any bad weather at my house, power stayed on. The closest possible tornado sighting was a good 40 minutes or more away from where i live and even that didnt cause any damage that i know of. Thor def listens.

I’m a closet heathen (around my family) and I’ve been interested in Norse mythology for quite some time now. I’ve read the Neil Gaiman book, the Poetic Edda, and currently reading a book about Asatru. It’s hard for me to make a sacrifice since I live with my family and don’t want to be questioned. Anyways today it’s pouring rain in NY. I figured when I got home from work since nobody is here I’d go outside in the backyard and make an offering to Thor. I spoke with him for maybe a minute and when I said “I’m reaching out to you on this day of rain and clouds because I want to learn more of the old ways and build a relationship with you”, the second I finished that sentence the LOUDEST cracks of thunder hit. Chills went down my spine. I’ve heard ppl say “you’ll have your experience someday” and I didn’t think it was that legit. Today totally changed that. I’ve been interested in this faith/lifestyle for roughly 5 months and today I had my experience with Thor. I gave whiskey as an offering and thanked him for his presence. To all the folk who helped me gain knowledge and passion for this way of life, Skal !

I've always felt a connection to the rain when I was young, and even now. I commonly take long walks when it's raining and get mad when my parents tell me I can't because there's thunder. Even in hurricanes me and my dad will sit on the porch and watch what's happening outside. On top of that my mom named me, Rowan, after the tree, and while looking through the book she god my name from discovered Thor was connected to my namesake. So, I went online and spent hours looking up videos about him and how I should honor him, but your videos had by far been the most helpful. Unlike most others you don't just talk about him being strong and fighting things, but also the other layers of him. While watching these videos it almost felt like like this mighty God was giving me a hug, thank you so much for what you do and for bringing me closer to Thor.

Just wanted to drop by and tell you a short story. I watched lots of your videos, including this one. So I thought and thought and thought about what I could offer Thor. I had several kinds of dark beer in my hand, but I didn't really like any of them. And I thought - what good is a sacrifice when you don't actually GIVE UP something? So I bought a sort I actually really like and gave a good amount of it to Thor.
I summoned him, lit a candle, I told him that I wanted to thank him for his protection of my home (because I live in a dark corner of my town, where Police is around all the time, but nothing EVER happened to me or my flat). I told him I just now realised I am wearing his hammer around my neck since almost 15 years. It just felt as if I was protected, whenever I wore it, but I never thought much about it, before recently.
I also told him I'm looking forward to some thunder storms in the summer. But my town lies in a weird spot where they actually almost NEVER happen. Maybe once or twice in the two years I'm already living here. And - lo and behold! - two days after the offering I was awoken by heavy thunder right above my home! Not just a subtle noise, but actual loud thunders rolling through the air. The kind you can even somewhat feel rumbling through the ground.
I just lay there in bed, grinning like a child and calling out a happy thanks.

Two months late to this video, but I’ll never forget my first experience with Thor. It happened when I was still in my exploratory/“interested, but not sure if I’m actually a Norse pagan” phase. Actually I’d say this was the experience that pushed me into full on “yeah, this is real, I’m a Norse pagan” territory. It’s a long story but basically I was sitting in my room watching a RUclips video completely unrelated to Norse paganism when I noticed it was getting very cloudy outside. I got this sudden overpowering urge to go outside to my patio, and I kid you not, as you closed the door and stepped out onto my patio, a long, rumbling boom of thunder came from the direction I was facing. I immediately felt the presence of something powerful and I felt humbled and a little overwhelmed. As it began to sprinkle, I wanted to turn around and go back inside, but as I went to open the door, there was a larger, louder boom of thunder and I got an urge to stay outside. It was less of a rumble, more just BOOM! There was another, smaller rumble of thunder, and I felt an urge to follow it in the direction it came from. I followed the rumbles of thunder to a field near my house, where I saw a huge flash of lightning nearby, followed by a very large crash of thunder, and then the sprinkle turned into rain. I kind of just stood there in the rain, speechless, and thinking to myself, yeah, this path I’ve been kind of starting down lately is definitely the right one. At that moment, I knew this path was for me and I was on the right track. I made my first offering to Thor that day, gave him one of my favorite beers. One of the most incredible experiences of my life. Here’s the crazy part though: when I got up that morning it was a gorgeous, sunny morning, not a cloud in the sky, and as I left to run some errands that morning I thought to myself, out of the blue, “I feel like it’s gonna storm today.” I didn’t even check the weather, I had no discernible reason to think that, I just had this gut feeling. That was the day I truly became a Norse pagan.

I originally wanted to worship Odin, however I didn’t feel a strong connection with him and started to doubt if this was a path for me. So instead, I reached out to Thor. I sat alone in my room and spoke to him, asking to give me some sort of sign that he is there and will be there if I need him. Sure enough, literally the next morning, there was a thunderstorm. I felt like he was there, ready to listen and be present. I sat next to my window and listened to the rain and thunder for a while.

I genuinely believe it saved our lives one night where a twister was about to touch down on top of the trailer. However only got low enough to throw our car port and wrap it around a small tree. It fascinates me that you also have a more reserved stance when it comes to Odin. Let me start off by saying that I get that and I totally respect your opinion. It feels so alien to me because he really does feel like the Allfather to me. I have spoken to several people who share your opinion on Odin but I really can't find myself in that and I wonder why that is. Nonetheless, I loved your video on Thor and I am looking forward to the next ones!

I may have an idea which my psychologist mother helped me become aware of. When I listen to Enya's music while sleeping I pretty much always have some nightmares and the explanation was her music was triggering the 'baggage/trash' in my subconscious. What I'm trying to say maybe Thor had the same effect on you. You can think of this process as a purification stage where the worst of what's hidden within comes to surface so you can become aware of it and fight it. Hope it made enough sense for you :)

I do want to point at least for me when it comes to Odin, Thor, Loki, Freya (IDK if spelled it correctly but i have seen this way Freyja but please let me know because it is driving me crazy), and Tyr do come to me when they do feel even without offering as they know how busy my life is atm and family needs me the most i always felt good connections with them. I ask and mostly they said no you don't have to run out to a thunder storm during my safety since that is how mostly known, But i can say for me Yeah Thor is awesome god. Okay yeah he was on guard when i meet him but when i got pass that rough edges it is amazing how Thor is. I don't mean any harm but looking from the stories makes sense, Odin minds me of lot like...okay Gandolf the Grey and Gandolf the White except missing a eye. I did ask Odin to help me with the runes and he did, he did give me two runes which are on my staff but i did add Tyr's rune or mostly Rune of balance and he was fine with it, Loki not going to lie was afraid but have watch some videos of Loki and gotten me more comfy and reached out and Loki is awesome god to..for my personal opinion to do some shadow work with the illusions but still awesome god to hang out, talk to, and over all in general great god but he can be hand full. Tyr awesome haven't much contact lately but still i feel his presents here and there, Freya is my second goddess i do follow and i got to say thank you Freya as to mostly build up my warrior side but also keep in balance even if i am alone she shown me the way and at times...she did some drill sergeant but i know she means well and she at times when i am working out she gives that fire and bring out that warrior spirit and meet my goals, she does have the mother side to her just...don't piss her off. Frigga i have meet awesome goddess that i have meet once and her personality is amazing. Sorry i went on a ramble but i wanted share this even though i am Draconic pagan but i always have Norse part of my path and yes i always felt more welcomed and honored to have the Norse gods/goddesses to help me. I always wanted to branch out more then just one side and Norse pagan branch seems be good calling and part of my faith. Wanted share this sorry again rambled on.

Forgive me the dumb question, but I'm not very used to the pagan rituals, I was watching this video and I was wondering what happened to the bear after you left it in the altar? You just let it stay there for a while, and than you throw it away, or you drink the rest? And also, whatever is the answer, how does Thor receive the offering exactly? It would make sense to me if you just pour the beer in the ground, that way the liquid with be absorved and taken to Thor or something. Again, sorry if this is a dumb question, just trying to understand how it works!

    • @darkynura
      @darkynura Год назад

Don't let it go bad on the altar and if you feel like you should drink it, do it, else you can just pour it on the earth or near trees, but maybe not exactly on them :) never dispose of offerings like garbage as that may come as offensive, but firstly as I said, don't let those offerings go bad on the altar and with what you should do next is try and feel Thor and follow your intuition on what you should do with them.

The first Norse god I reached out to was Thor, and he showed me Njord as a more suitable Patron, which I was grateful for.
But since then I tried to reach Thor twice more. The second time, I offered him some flint, because I read that he likes flint, and I offered him that since there was supposed to be a thunderstorm that day. There ended up being no thunderstorm at all, so I summoned Thor for nothing.
The third time, I was about to travel a long distance. I prayed to Thor for protection along the way, but i felt a feeling of disproval.
Is there some reason that Thor might just dislike me? or is this all just circumstancial, a case of me getting unlucky or reaching Thor whilst he's busy?
