The designer of the Santa Justa Elevator in Lisbon was Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard. Portuguese born in Porto. And never was a Disciple or worked for Gusttave Eiffel!! Besides is French name. He was a Proud Portuguese!!

Sounds like my kind of living my friend. My wife of 46 yrs Lovely Linda & I were seriously thinking of moving permanently to North Central Portugal. Then we started having health issues.
