"Such is Portugal, (...) taking her place today in that family of free nations (...)."
Pretty words. Ironically however, Portugal at the time was under the dictatorship of Salazar, and would be so for 24 more years still.
+Gonçalo Leal Free was not the same of democracy in those times.
Obrigada por esta preciosidade cultural. Viva Portugal 🇵🇹um jardim plantado à beira mar. 🙏🌷🍀

My god, has my country evolved. Being born in the 2000s in Lisbon, it's so hard to imagine that my country was this rural and poor. Thanks 25 de Abril and, of course, the EU =)
Viva Salazar
poor , watch your ass , i live in a rich country and at that time they did have the cagadeiras the same in the backyard
@@joaoportugues8159 Salazar made things worse for the Azores at least.
@@joaoportugues8159 cala te fascista
oh My God...you´re so ignorant about Portugal´s History
I miss Portuguese when it was a giant and dominating language. I hope that someday Portuguese destroys English🙏
It still is if you want me tbh
everyone was poorer
now everyone is richer....
In 1950, Portugal had a fascist government under Salazar. It was overthrown on April 25, 1974. When I lived there in 1975-76, the Portuguese referred to the Salazar period as "a ditadura fascista."
Portugal was better than, it had a leader that loved his Country and wanted the best for its Country. Know is governed by corrupt socialist , communist thieves and Traitors of Portugal.
of course...after 25th april far left politic called everyone fascista.....
VIVA PORTUGAL . VIVA SALAZAR
Filósofo Intemporal Doutor Antônio Oliveira Salazar
