Rode backstep on a 1972. Had subway straps on the cross bar. Would ride there in the summer
U can actually hear the growl of that beautiful Federal Q! Those Qs were the best.
And that beautiful puff.
Great combo American LeFrance, Detroit 871 and the Q. Nice old school equipment
That old girl is running just right! A slight stream of diesel soot coming out the pipe under heavy load. Looks good!
Great Q and horn action on that American LaFrance Pumper
Classic
Love hearing those Alf Detroit’s, that sounds like a fire truck. Thank you for sharing
Back in the day when people stopped for fire trucks
Love Those ALF'S.
And the airhorns! Can't beat 'em.
really diggin' the old school grovers
It's a shame that American LaFrance went out of business.
Oriskany Falls has an American LaFrance rescue I think we selling it though
Its a Sterlling i did not see the American La France.
Yes it is. But ALF was riddled with many quality problems over the years. So it’s a surprise that they lasted as long as they did.
CLASSIC American La France.
YEP I wish American LaFrance was still in business.
Love those old air horns
As much as I hate Q sirens, red lights and hose beds....that thing is a beauty.
Very nice
All you need, The Q and the Airhorn
They don't make them like this anymore, nice rig
Yeah obviously. AMERICAN LaFRANCE went out of business in 2014.
Absolutely Beautiful
AMERICAN La FRANCE , one very nice rig!
Were can i find them Engine 17 air horns from backdraft
That old Q 🥰
True Fire Engine, Detroit Diesel and a Q siren.
Very true. However, these newer engines are much more quiet and a heck of a lot more powerful.
Now thats a real fire truck i like the old airhorns it has nice vid.
Beautiful, man, beautiful!
awesome engine, looks and sounds just great
What?! Not standing in the jumpseat?
Wow!!! I wonder if they kept that engine as a parade truck?
Actually, the newest truck in Utica, a 2008 Pierce Arrow XT pumper has a Q.
That rig is an antique
900 or 1000? I know it's a Century
RIP ALF
i'll put this as a ringtone...
Awesome video, love it! :)

@farmtruck551 see the "backdraft" film's fans !
What an embarrassment to that community having to keep a junk yard relic like that rolling wreck in service...........
Really? It runs as a reserve. Do u think KME rigs will last that long?
I'd rather have this old historic engine than any modern day Apparatus.
