This song has it all. Freddie's ridiculous vocals, Brian on vocals, guitar and keyboard, Roger on drums, John on the stand up bass, a full orchestra and a boys choir. What else could you ask for? Amazing

Written by Brian May for the Highlander movie soundtrack!! Beautiful gorgeous song … the live version is magical. I love the Budapest version! Other songs from the soundtrack are PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE, ONE YEAR OF LOVE, GIMME THE PRIZE,
A KIND OF MAGIC, DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD ..

    • @DWtechfan

Don't forget that Princes Of The Universe was also the theme song for "Highlander The Series". The movies were good but I preferred the TV show. And I'm impressed most people don't even know about Don't Lose Your Head except Highlander fans and diehard Queen fans. Glad to see I'm not the only one!

Brian May wrote this for the soundtrack of the movie "Highlander" and I believe the orchestration was by Michael Kamen who did the soundtrack. Queen recorded several other songs for the movie, most of which were included on their "A Kind of Magic" album, as well as a solo piano version played by Brian. I love this but there are some powerful live versions that I also love.

Queen could not perform this song live on stage with only 4 (or 5, if Spike joined them on the piano) musicians as they recorded it in the studio version so they modified the presentation while still keeping the essence of the original.
As Freddie said, there are always different ways to present a song. Queen often reworked a song for a live version (try comparing the studio version of "Love Of My Life" ruclips.net/video/7hFeER3_ZRQ/видео.html and a live version ruclips.net/video/v3xwCkhmies/видео.html. Their live version of a song was often performed at a faster tempo with a longer instrumental section.

Now that you've heard the original you must go to Marc Martel's version of this in his studio with just his piano. It's on his RUclips channel. His voice sounds just like Freddy's. They actually used Marc's voice in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. He has his own Queen tribute band and tours internationally. Another must watch is Marc's one-take Bohemian Rhapsody cover with just him and his piano. All Marc's covers are fantastic.

Waooo!!!....Congratulations my friend John!! ...I want invite you to give us your opinion, like musician, reacting to who is considered the best singer of the world...His name is Dimash Kudaibergen, a young singer who handle 7 octaves and 3 semitones of vocal range (An alien)...He has been singing since he was 5 years (he is 28 now) and he can sing in more than 15 languages...But if you decide to react to Dimash for the first time, please don't do it with his most recent songs ... I recommend that you go to the year 2017 and react to the song that made him a global idol ... I mean the performance he did of the famous French song called "SOS D'un Terrien en Détresse", when he participated in the famous Chinese reality show The Singer in that year 2017 ... With that performance Dimash earned the reputation of being the best singer on the planet, so I recommend you start with that one...You have to be prepared because you are likely to receive a flood of views, comments and new subscribers....And I have to give you a warning: Never react to The World Best videos, because they deceived him and treated him very badly.!...I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Dimash....Here you have the best high quality video of Dimash performing S.O.S. Live 2017.....ruclips.net/video/bDX3FhmyNac/видео.html

Who wants to live forever? The highlander of the movie by the same name did not want to live forever because his lover grew old and died and the Highlander was left a widow. To go on living with9ut his love. It’s hard to believe Brian wrote this and here we see him playing I think two different organs. But if he wrote it, he wrote the childrens choir parts and the orchestration too. Queens 4 members all had more than 1 number one hits. They all had bachelor degrees.in clouding John Deacon who had an electrical degree that on bohemian rhapsody and this song could have put the vocals and instruments into whatever amps, Leslie’s for keyboards when technology wasn’t there yet. Deacon wrote another one bites the dust which started with his weird bass notes and the other weird sounds I believe came from Brian’s red guitar that he and his father made when he was a young man and had no money to afford that guitar. That was so long ago that people warned him not to take it on tour but I believe it’s still apart of the band. Could this guitar be over 50 years old.
