I got a build very similar to this one n im surprised ur not using lightning spear to punish, i always got that on my quick slot. And also u can roll catch ppl who dodge ur honed bolt by free aiming lightning strike right after honed bolt. Awesome vid again man, super under rated

Funnily enough, it's best used with Erdtree Seal, and not the seal that boosts electric incantations, though that's true of every weapon enhancement spell -- always pick the staff or seal that gives the most INT-based or FAITH-based scaling. I do resent somewhat that Bloodflame Blade is also in this category. You would think it would scale with the arcane portion of seals, but nope. Damage-wise it still only scales with Faith, and the bleed build up doesn't scale (which is probably a good idea anyway). Still powerful for bleed.

That is hard to say since I nearly always play PvP and rush the PvE. My first playthrough was with Golden Halberd only and even if hard, especially against the endbosses, it was a good challenge. I remember the Comet Azur Gargoyle melt and other cheese videos from back then. Effective? Yes. Fun? No. I have mixed feelings for the DLC. On 1 hand I really want to enjoy the game leaned back without any spoilers and guides. On the other hand I really want to get new spells and weapons fast haha. Right now I play my Dragon Cult Incantations build with Bloodflame Claw. I thought "this will probably be really easy" but man did I get my b*tt handed to me. To answer your question: Any melee bnuild without status buildup, any melee build with status buildup and rank 3 some faith build. I believe with melee builds you enjoy the game longer🙂 hope my explanation is somewhat understandable!
