Phoe, that's a high ceiling, mine is less high (but still high) and in a corner part of a stair, we also build our own scaffold. Great job in building this one, looks really great !
In my house when I need to paint , I screw 2x4s to each side of the stairwell 8 ft from the ceiling and place 2 x4s across and plywood on top. Then no need for legs. Then when I do the part closer to the stairs I just putty in the screw holes and finish painting the bottom.
Did your stairs have carpet? I'm wanting to repaint my stairwell and I'm trying to figure out a safe solution and this seems great, except my stairs are carpeted.
I like it. But I can't envision how to build the platform without.... a platform! In my case the far end of the structure will be 12' high. Once I place the upright 2x4s I have no way to get 12' up in the stairwell to place the platform. Maybe a video of the building of the project step by step? Thanks.
I can't figure out how you guys attached the uprights to the platform to save my life lol... Can you please share that with me? I'm trying to figure out if it's doable for one person.
Hey William…, The vertical supports are screwed into the stair risers. To avoid that you could also do cross bracing of the legs to add stability. Thx for watching!

@@MollyP23 Yes, my stairs have carpet. Once I backed the screws out you couldn’t even tell they were ever in there.

Are the uprights screwed to the face of the stair steps?
