Hi, you did a short where you said Bonamassa and others add an extra note to make speed pentatonic licks faster. Do you have a lesson for that? Cheers

Yes, I made a video a little while back called Eric Johnson in 3 steps go check that out. It’s not the exact point of the video you’re referring to but I go over 3 patterns that will help with style of playing. 🤘

Good inspiration. Where did you get the backing track? Thanks.

Thanks! It’s on RUclips I just typed in A dorian guitar backing track and found it. It’s a minor to d7 over and over 🤘

Great lesson - your style of teaching is amazing! You might like this quasi chromatic climbing riff that Phil X does here: ruclips.net/video/FXeT2OhaR9M/видео.html

Dude! Showing the riff and then showing it immediately after in context is sooooo useful and brilliant!

In fact, after watching you in the outdo kill it - it would be so great to hear you break a solo improv like this into chunks - because I am sure not all of it is purely the chromatics - or is it? Seems like some scalar stuff to, or is that all the illusion given by well placed chromaticism? I wanna learn to make things sound musical like you do, and not just sound like vomiting up patterns. :-). Any tips on that?

Thanks dude! I’ve been trying to figure out a way to easily demonstrate things in more context and I’ve finally figured out how. I’m glad that you found that useful! I’ll definitely do lessons in the future discussing improv and demonstrating ideas in context. The solos were mainly pentatonic/ dorian and then occasionally using chromatics. I was using chromatics more than I naturally would in order to demonstrate some of the sounds. 🤘
