Good stuff! Exactly the issue with mine. Didn't have any silicone lubricant, but Contact / lubricant spray for electronics fixed mine in no time. Thank you.
My microwave just recently began turning on by itself when I open the door. I cleaned latch and it fixed it for a couple weeks, but it is doing it again now. First...is this dangerous??? My son says he doesn't think it is actually generating microwaves when it does this because normally it causes interference in his head phones...but it is not doing that when it turns on from door opening. Anyway...I just want to know if it is dangerous...until I can buy a new one...should we even be using this one??
My KitchenAid microwave cuts on when you open its door…Can’t you you just simply spray the Silicone Lubricant into the latch holes without having to disassemble your microwave? 🤔 Thank you in advance for your response & advice!
Either the top or bottom latch went up to far it needs to have spring tension when being reinstalled. Basically the latch needs to be pushed into the down position if it goes up to far and for this the control panel needs to be removed again. Let me know if you need further assistance 👍
A big thanks for this fix. No one else mentioned anything like this across the internet.

Nice, I haven't seen a problem like that but great to know for when I do get one
Worked and saved the cost of a new switch.
Why the cheesy background music?
why silicone spray instead of machine oil or something like that?

Not sure I don’t really know the science behind microwaves - just know how to fix the door switches
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro 😅😅😅 ok thanks 😅😅
very difficult to hear you with the music on
I don't put music in my videos anymore. Thanks for the feedback.
Awesome trick, Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great input .... but I was getting dizzy watching 😮
The fact is it's Walmart products are crap about the same microwave two days later the door wouldn't open and it had nothing to do with the lock
Can you use WD40 instead of silicon spray?
It can but do so at your own risk.

I followed your instructions, but now my microwave won't latch closed 😭 Any advice?

I had that problem. So I went to Walmart and brought a Hamilton Beach micro 900 watts for $55 .The other one was 3 years old.
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro That fixed it! Thank you so much!
You went way too fast. If people wanted to skip some of the disassembly they could just advance the vid.
