Well; for horns, but the size of the deer is the girth and length. That buck in Maine had a greatest girth of 56inches. They estimate his live weight at 488lbs. Thats what I call big, granted he was only 16 points.
Back in the 30s on the Mississippi river in east carrol and Madison parish Louisiana bucks like this were killed pretty often . And i aint lyin neither! Well maybe a little bit
I'm in a wheelchair and I've got permission to hunt 90 Acres on the other side of a billionaire old lady. She has a whole entire fruit Orchard on her property and acorn and walnut trees everywhere. She feeds the deer and has never let anyone hunt her property. Definitely creates some monsters

Not a hunter so please forgive me guys.I am somewhat confused. If the Brewster buck is the largest ever harvested why does it rank behind the Missouri monarch and the hole in the horn buck? EDIT: The other 2 were roadkill. I get it.
They have pictures of it free ranging from years before. Most likely also have his old sheds from prior years. Those are the first things they would ask you if there were any doubts about your deer. If someone shows up with a big rack & nothing else, no supporting trail cam photos or sheds, they won't take him seriously. Probably would just ignore him.

I'm not trying to hate but I come from a different world than that deer where there is no ag, just forests and swamps and deer are natural. So coming from that, to me that rack looks more like a freak show than something to strive for. I'd think it would actually be a handicap to that deer, not purposeful.. I mean, look at it. But I guess if you are playing the points game then what it scores is all that matters. Maybe if I grew up in those areas I'd think differently. But those deer turn me off and I'd maybe even be hesitant to eat that deer with the amount of AG and fertilizer and whatever else it must have in it to grow antlers like that.
I mean, I live in the same county this deer was shot in. I will keep hunting for B&C bucks. You keep hunting swamp donkeys. We can work through this together lol.

Pen raised deer are required to have 2 types of identification on them. I would think they would have checked the deer throughly. The deer had been around for 5 years and it took him quite a long time to reach the massive size it got to. Most pen raised deer look like that by age 2.

Man that is one hell of a deer but that’s a pretty rough mount. That taxidermist made that deer look like it was sleeping

Awesome buck and a great story . Congratulations and thank you for your service ! (From a fellow veteran)
Agreed
Semper Fi brother, this is the same reason I’m taking up bow hunting. It’s the calming we need from all we have been through.
This story story is legitimately a hunters dream especially us who start late
Love this story on this deer!
Incredible story! Congrats on a LEGENDARY buck! 🏆🏆
Always thought this was one wild looking buck! Once in a lifetime type of deer!
How did this buck go from a typical one year,to the crazy thing it is now?Sure it's the same buck?
My target buck was a typical last year but this year this year he is a a non typical

Saw this rack in person 4 months after shot, while the rack was getting replica made
Folks probably don’t believe it but at some point this whitetail walk in front of a few Exodus Cameras. Matt Kline was hunting in this area of IL!
So what is so special about these exodus brand of camera? Would any trail camera have taken the same picture?

Ok, so the title of the video is "LARGEST BUCK Ever Harvested"......then at the end of the video, we find out it's the 3rd largest. So which is it?
Key word, "harvested" it is largest, other two were found dead of old age or natural accidents.
@@adamblevins9758 thanks for clearing that up for me. I had trouble listening in school too.
It's the largest ever harvested. The other were found already dead, causes unknown.

Not taking away from the story but this is not what is seen in the wild. Probably an escaped high fence buck..
