  • On 15 September 2023, the renown classical architect Professor Robert Adam delivered a keynote lecture on 'Beauty: Community and Comprehension'.
    Professor Adam's lecture was a part of the Roger Scruton Legacy Foundation's conference, 'The Pursuit of Beauty: An Academic Conference', hosted in partnership with the Mathias Corvinus Collegium and Arte Cívico at Peterhouse, University of Cambridge. This gathering, which took place from 14th-16th September 2023 at the historic Peterhouse, University of Cambridge, sought to cultivate dialogue and exchange amongst the next generation of academics and artists. Over 80 individuals from around the world attended this seminal meeting and contributed to this comprehensive three-day programme exploring the philosophy of beauty.
    Professor Robert Adam is a leading figure in modern traditional and classical design with 45 years of professional experience. Educated at the University of Westminster and later earning a Doctorate in Philosophy from Oxford Brookes University, he founded ADAM Architecture in 1992, which has become the largest architecture firm specializing in traditional design in Europe. His contributions extend to urban design, furniture, and academia, having authored six books and numerous articles while also serving as a Visiting Professor of Urban Design at the University of Strathclyde. Over his career, Adam has held significant positions in various committees, founded two charities, and won multiple accolades including the prestigious Richard H. Driehaus Prize for contributions to traditional and classical architecture.
