Unfortunately as we are the last in the plots everything is down to the painter don’t see them asking the floor layer to touch up the skirtings or walls after him but we have to knock the pins in that the Chippie leaves fill the bad ceiling line cos that’s all in and out redec the cills after Tom dick and harry have put their cups and tools all over them when laying floors we are a trade that deserves to earn better for the work we put in after all it’s our work they see when they walk in after we’ve filled up and caulked up all the bad work before us we should be called magicians 🤔
Had this conversation with countless no2s , it’s not my job to snag joinery , plastering , cover protect kitchen , protect floor tiles sweep up and generally turd polish plots Cleaners are well most just lazy fkrs on minimum wage , pay peanuts ya get cleaners I’d say them sockets are pearl grey Nothing changes , Christmas push complete Feet up
i got into an argument with a foreman joiner once coz i glossed a couple of bits of skirting with nails hanging out , idiot wanted me to punch them in , unbelievable
I had a chippy ask me to come and find him when I find any nails sticking out, so he knew they were there, but I'll just stop what I'm doing to go and find him 😂
I had the job of painting the first sold plot on site, I went round it putting red stickers on every nail sticking out and on piss poor drywall joints and refused to paint it until it was put right. Didn't make me flavour of the day but you have to make a stand.
Protruding nails and gritfill coming out over the tops of the skirting the bane of my life when i was on the house bashing , as for the plastic trim , ive never painted that trim and i would just tell them pay for a coat of zinzer and i will paint it just setting yourself up for a fail , just cut a small nozzle in your caulk and fill it like that . Dont miss the house bashing one bit and probably would struggle with it now , stopped after the 2008/2009 crash and never went back to it . Best wishes bud .

I've always been told to paint that small plastic trim in, and always have. Never got a single complaint. Some of these site agents don't know shit.

Nail guns have a lot to answer for , rusty casings are quite common
