Wow, I didn't realize you lived close enough to NYC to take a day trip there! What a fun museum.
That is a great idea to plan a family get away every month. Great enrichment activities for the children! You live in such a great area for exploring.
Curious how far you are from NYC and how long it took you to get there and back. 🤔
So happy to see a family invest their time and dollars into family time. There is no better investment. Your children will remember these days with fond memories. And hopefully it fosters their future lives with these great times together as a family.
Hi Hilary, great job on filming this video. Thanks for taking us along. Going to NYC is in my bucket list. My boys both played Soccer when they were young and my Husband coached both of their teams for several years in a row. It’s lots of fun. ❤

I have teenagers and we left on a cruise for spring break out of New York City before we left. We went to see the Harry Potter Broadway play and it was fabulous! Thanks for sharing your life, spring sports are the hardest in the Midwest. It is so cold in the spring and usually rainy.
I remember those soccer days🌪️ My son did every outside sport, the spring activities were always windy and freezing. These years go by so fast, I thought I would never say this but I miss those freezing days watching my son…❤️❤️

That looked like a core memory for the kids for sure, I'm sure they'll remember that fun outing. Lots of fun stuff in Philly if you ever feel like heading this way 😀 I have been outside at various events where I've gotten absolutely chilled to the bone and it seems like it takes forever (and a hot shower) to finally warm back up again ~ I know what that feels like! Thanks for sharing your busy day!

The best part of living where we do is the ease of visiting NYC and Philly but coming back home to the peace and quiet!
From a retired soccer mom of all 13 school years: chair, water, backpack of snacks, hat with brim for wind/sun, sunglasses, blankets for sitting or warming, hat or ear covering - or better yet, your hood! A big golf umbrella also makes a good fort for the littles when it's not raining or snowing! It's amazing what types of weather fall and spring can bring to the fields 😊
And a book!
They also make coats and vests with battery powered heat. Would be perfect for keeping the chill off!
You might also look into an Under the Weather Pod. I loved mine.
I love the monthly family outing and totally plan on doing that with my kids once my newborn gets a little older 😄

A helpful consideration that was shared with me once: If Christ called and said “let’s hang out, what shall we do today?” Would you suggest “Harry Potter exhibit ” or _fill in the blank?_
If not, why?
Does it make sense to go with your family? or by yourself? (Is the Lord not always with you?)

Thanks for showing me NYC ❤. I haven’t been in 19 years can you believe that! Not sure when I will visit again. Love America! We have the Harry Potter Studio your in the U.K. but when we were due to have tickets covid hit so it was cancelled. Take care x

Gosh, I am so envious of you being able to hop into NYC for a day. I would love to go. The Harry Potter exhibit looked so well done; my youngest son (41) and I would LOVE to see that, lol. We can hop into Dallas or Ft. Worth for the day but it's not quite NYC. Maybe some day I can convince hubby to fly up there. The cafe looked so cozy, classy and delish too. Thought of Hilary when I was at Walmart. They have the cutest block print kitchen towels (Beautiful by Drew Barrymore). Also lots of clearance at my store - sheets, kitchen towels and clothes some marked down to $3!!

My daughter and I saw the Harry Potter exhibit a few years ago in Philadelphia! It was so much fun!
My daughter played soccer from age 4 all they way through high school. One thing I learned is that the weather is usually brutal. We either froze, burned up or were soaking wet. Even when its pouring rain...soccer does not get cancelled. It was crazy. Lots of games I sat in the car with a toddler and watched the practices/games.
I was a soccer mom and I loved it. Enjoy this time of life with your kids. My daughter is graduating high school so we are at a different stage in our life. Blessings to your family.
Living on the opposite side of the country, I've only been to NYC once. I have a friend in NJ and it's crazy how close everything is. I love the beauty where I am, but a little envious of that proximity!
I have been a softball mom, a baseball mom, and a dance mom. No soccer so far! It's pretty fun to just sit, relax, and watch your children do something they love!

Sirtint outside for a cold soccer game leaves a permanent chill in your body. 😆 I highly recommend a hot bath to get it out of you.

April is the best month for a visit to New York. The five times (3 - 5 days each) I went, it looked exactly as in your video. 1977, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1988.
Interesting how everyone has their own opinion about things. As a Christian mom I made the decision not to let my kids read or watch Harry Potter. Glad you had a good day. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦

When I was younger my sister and I loved Harry Potter and my mom’s friend is Christian and she didn’t like the fact that we watched Harry Potter so she took our VHS and ruined it !! We were very sad kids. I’ll never forget.

Looks like a fun day! We live in WI and experience all the weather during soccer season as well. I'm still not always prepared. Lol

I felt like I was right there with her, experiencing the excitement of the Big Apple.
None of my children have ever played soccer but my friend's kids have and she says the weather is all over the map the entire season. This is every single year.

This was a fun video. Does driving in NYC drive you batty, or are you used to it? My siblings and my hubby and I are going to go to NYC, in August. As a family, we went to NYC 60 years ago, for the World's Fair. We are going to go back and revisit the fair grounds, the hotel we stayed at, and enjoy other things in NYC. Can't wait! I love NYC.

What a full packed day. The museum sounded so fun and sure did look packed with so much to take in.

New shed - will you be moving the garage contents to the shed?
We’re replacing an existing shed so the contents will mostly stay the same, but yes one day hopefully within a few years we’ll do some rearranging to empty our small garage and renovate. One project at a time!
For spring sports this year I juat bought some Merino Wool leggings (onsale after winter!🎉)! I already had wool socks and a wool sweater from thrifting and then I layer up on top! I bring my wool blanket, water and hot tea (sometimes two!) and something to cover my head. Hope you can stay warm!❤
