AHI is Aamna Haider Isani and will bring to you the life, style and soul of my life.
The word AHI may be the acronym of my name, but it independently stands for a species of Hawaiian Tuna. Ahi is an apt name for me. As a Piscean, fish is my symbol and water my element.
But this channel isn't about astronomy. l'll be tapping into my 20-year career as a fashion journalist to cover fashion as a source of self-expression and body positivity. We'll have a little bit of fun in shows like Fashion Fortnightly. I'll be connecting with fashionable creatures in Meet the Muse and reviewing fun, new products in the short FIR - First Impression Review. Aamna 101 will take you into my life while The AHI Icon will bring you an exceptional person, whose story inspires.

Im not fond of your recommended brands simply because of these brands being over priced i know inflation is all over but still it doesn't justify their price tags, i can afford these brands but choose not to buy even once, you won't believe it i bought myself two 2 piece cloths which is worth 1800 and 1500 unstitched of brand zulbery, I'm first time experiencing these exotic brands i used to previously buy gul ahmed alkaram but now i have switched it to multiple upcoming brands, why not give them a try... I think spending 40k to 60k on simply an outfit just for one occasion is so spendy..

I am great fan of Amna and your fashion suggestions but I belong to the group who search for a 3 pc suit from 3k to 5k for Eid and for everyday wear, I prefer to buy around 2k which is why I buy from Sapphire, Nishat, Ego, So kamal etc and look upto their sales.

I hate that so many brands are doing organza dupattas. It’s impossible to wear organza in this heat!! Also, so many lawn prints are see through and need slips which is also impossible in this heat!! Also, the mix kapra!! Polyester is such a big no for our weather but so many brands are making mix lawns!! In Karachi you can still wear cotton in summers because you get breeze in the evenings but in Lahore we can only wear lawn! Not even cotton. And now these brands are giving us mix lawn which is unacceptable

When I was getting married my mom got me a few classic outfits custom made from a Lahore based designer . At that time I was very annoyed because Khirads style was all the rage and Ammi made me classic Kashmiri coat, classic white block printed Kurta set etc. my MiL in the meanwhile got me all the trendy clothes which I absolutely LOVED. 11 years on, i keep going back for the Kashmiri coat and other clothes that Ammi made because those are all timeless clothes of good quality silks that can never go out of style. I am so happy that I was able to get so much mileage out of those clothes and don’t plan on retiring them any time soon( or ever )

    "Dear Amna,
Aslamoalikum! I am an avid follower of your show on RUclips, and I must say, your insights have been invaluable in helping me gain firsthand knowledge in the fashion industry. Your work, your style, and the way you communicate are truly inspiring. I was thrilled to learn that you chose to pursue your passion in fashion at a time when most were leaning towards traditional careers like medicine and engineering. Your determination and success are truly motivating. I particularly enjoyed today's episode of Fashion Friday on Fashion Fortnightly. Additionally, we are immensely proud of Mr. Khawaja's achievements. Thank you for all that you do; your work is greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Mona.

I feel like Zara shahjahan has improved this year fabric wise. I remember about two years ago I’d bought a couple of things from them and the fabric was just horrible. I got a two piece suit for Eid this time from them and I love the colour , pattern and the overall feel of the fabric. Amna you talk a lot about your love for saris I was wondering if you could do an episode on saris, different drapes etc, dos and don’ts. There are a lot of sari brands on insta now as well so would love to hear what you think. Thank you!

#askaamna a super random question but what do you think about people who overdress on eid? like the saying goes "style over comfort" and people wearing pure formals for either of the eids (choti or bari) just because they want to look the best. Or should people keep it comfortable and simple? because in your fashion fortnightly you put an emphasis on people not dressing up according to the weather or overdressing for eid etc

Zara Shahjahan: The only attractive collection I find as a teenager is, there coco one cuz it aligns very well with this Eid’s weather, having vibrant hues and playful styles. Talking about there other collections, so they are not so worth it (according to me) because they charge more than that outfit could’ve costed them in its making + the designs are also not so unique this time because they’ve mostly pasted the same embroidered neckline that they have made, a long time ago.

    Hi
    So good review .
Sania Maskatiya is way too overpriced. I feel her clothes are really expensive and hard to get .
Sumaira Khanani I ordered last Eid. Her materials and combos very spot on. Pure silk and pure organza dupattas really loved them. Her delivery was spot on in usa.
This time around on bari Eid I am not a fan of the material she has used. Prices are very high for the Cora silk ones.
    Combos are really good

Amna, I wanted to ask about chikankari in Pakistan and why the craft never made its way to our region. Bahawalpur was once a chikan hub but I feel those designs are not of the same quality of craftsmanship.

Thank you Amna for mentioning problems with an organza dupatta. Please Amna, do an episode with designers that have good quality and customer service that also ship overseas. It is so hard for us outside Pakistan to get new clothes on eid, because most of the time the clothes are subpar compared to the price tag.

I have been Sumaira khanani customer for 4 years now. I like her formals but her pret is usually looking good on the models however the lengths of the shirts do not look as lovely when u are 169 cm & above. I wish she could accomodate the tall girls in her pret as well. I do like her work though as she is one of the few designers who let u customize her pieces. So the money spent is well spent🤩

I really want to know about clothes maintenance in terms of machine wash or handwash.A lot of expensive brands clothes look really old just after one wash😅.Please do a video on this topic.

    • @ayshcandy7155
      @ayshcandy7155 Месяц назад

You should not machine wash those heavily embroidered or expensive clothes. Hand wash with little detergent or shampoo.
Also avoid to wash it every single time. Wear it 2 or 3 times then wash it unless there is stain or its sweaty then you can wash after single wear

We ordered very expensive clothes from a brand name last Eid, wore it once and the stiching was so bad, plus the fabric . For people who live abroad it is hard to check the fabric. Thanks for sharing the list, we will try it from here. We are also looking for shalwar kameez with light hand sindhi , balochi etc embroidered styles zara shahjahan brought last year balochi styles which we loved. We don’t like organza duppatas either, also see through clothes don’t make sense . In the summer it is hard to wear camisole under it. Also, koel dont have extra large size 16 . The brands should be close to international sizes especially size 14 and 16.

These high end designers don't give a sh*t about the average Pakistanis in Pakistan . They only cater to Pakistanis abroad or the top 2% in Pakistan. Sania Muskatiya is , HSY etc. are so disappointing. Sanias lower range “ basics " ( if one can call it) start from 16000 & quality is terrible. I do like Zainab Chotani for her formals but this year was disappointing as her designs were the same and prices were ridiculous. I have gotten her lux pretty and worn them for special occasions & repeat them but how many times can you do that really? Zara Shajahan starts from 18,000 for the simplest of basic outfits. If ones has 3-4 kids today you’re just trying to survive & Im talking about professional doctors & therapists working for Agh Khan who used to be upper middle class, now even they are literally struggling. Khadi has gone downhill too w/ its sky high prices & declining quality. Zellbury & Saya are decent but now anybody gets popular they raise their prices while their quality goes south.

Yes I have Zara shahjahan...3 piece suit ....doesn't like the the material. So many patches....give me more expensive suit after paying stitching charges.....living in lahore is impossible to wear silk . . Only plain lawn is suitable....even I love cord sets ...more other brands like Generation....Ethnic, Beech tree ...Cross stitch and many more .....we don't have to spend thousands on clothes.....we have to answerable to Allah.....though inflation is getting higher on daily basis on Pakistan....as working doctor.....useless to spend on Brands ....but we can look decent in affordable clothes...my funda is that one shld know how to carry yourself ...either you are wearing any big brand or smaller one....but too be very honest....love your Friday Fashion idea ❤❤❤❤

Biggest problem Aamnaji is most of the Pakistani designers do not stitch for NRI’s. Like my sister is in US and I am in Europe. We can’t order because they won’t stitch. You know how expensive is stitching here.

Was a bit disappointed with sdk. Would have been helpful to notate the length of kaftan. The fabric didn't seem worth the $. I paid for Kaftan & kurta but they were out of stock for kurta. It took numerous texts to get refund. Customer service was not up to the par. Sania Maskitiya has good customer service. Looking forward to zara shahjahan. Also looking into mushk/republic
