Ryan how long have you been cycling? I'm think'n of getting into it as well. I also noticed the knee braces, Did cycling cause problems with your knees or low back? I've had low back issues in the past and feel the bent over position in cycling may not be something my back would agree on. Aside from all that, thx for sharing the beautiful scenery in Banff/Jasper.
Hi, I’ve been road biking since 2012, they are actually knee warmers, just cloth sleeves, although my knees are not great haha. If you are getting into it, I would avoid a true road bike and get a standard hybrid style bike with a more upright posture. Also, be sure to buy the bike from a reputable shop and get it fitted properly. There are specially trained bike fitters, many of them physiotherapists that can dial in your fit. Good luck!
@@RyandeMilliano I’m training to hit it again Banff to Jasper this summer as part of a bigger tour. First time I did Edmonton Banff jasper Edmonton Second Edmonton jasper Kelowna
What time of the year did you do this trip? My wife and I were there this July. We drove the parkway but I'd love to go back and bike it. We did not have Lake Louise all to ourselves. The place was packed at 6:30am. Beautiful area!
Chris I did this tour early June, Lake Louise can get very busy for sure. I’d recommend getting up there at first light, before breakfast. Avoid the crowds plus photos turn out better with that early morning light!
Charlie JEONG glad you liked it. This bike runs a 2x10 standard crankset I.e. 53/39 and 11/28 cassette. It’s a good range for me, but a compact crankset would be nice for a more relaxed climb (50/34)
Well done! Enjoyable to watch and intensely inspirational. Thanks for posting this!
I'm bikepacking from Jasper to Banff in the first week of June in 2020. Cannot wait 🤟
Do you stop at stop signs, Sean?
Those waters are so refreshing 😌

Wonderful. Really enjoyed. Question... gearing? Looks like 2 x 11. Was it good enough to climb hills ? Thanks
