I like how jane didn't make a big deal out of the ladies giving back the jewelry, just calmly said "I understand" and moved on. A gentlemanly reaction from a gentlemanly offering.
Yeah, we guys are Philistines that way... ;) And Jane was TOTALLY okay with it. The money was easy, but bonding with the people you work with...no dollar value on that.
I seem to remember that he returned the gifts for the ladies and donated the money to that lady they questioned to help pay the medical bills for her sick mother. You see it right at the end of the episode where she gets a package from Patrick. By that stage you had forgotten about that lady because she didn't really matter to the rest of the story, but it was really nice to see Patrick didn't forget her. Being nice without having to show off was my favourite character trait of Patrick.
Notice how Grace isn't happy to return the necklace back, but she returns because her boss did. 📿📿 Also notice how much did Cho smiles in this single scene? 😄😁🙃
I knew from this episode on that Jane had a crush on Lisbon. He got stuff for the rest of the team so that he could get away with getting her a lavish gift 🥰 It took my husband many more seasons to believe me tho lol.
I always think Jane is pretty much loaded with cash and that's why he doesn't care about money. I mean he can get like 20k whenever he wants just by 1 match of poker.
he used to be very rich but sfter his family were killed he stopped being materialistic . seen from before vs after clips his big house was empty with just a mattress
For Jane, money is expendable. He always knows how to get more. What he REALLY wants...he can never get back. It's why he'll do ANYTHING to get Red John.
I love the look Simon throws everytime she ever said "officers of the law". That's you. You had a close rate under 100%. I am A CON who has closed 100% of your cases. Best episode close too. He crushes in a power game to catch the killer. Gives the dealer from earlier that $ for her mom.
People saying Cho is by the book...he is most definitely NOT by the book, lol. He gave Jane the longest leash out of all them. Being stoic =/= being by the book. He's my favorite character after Jane.
I actually think the gifts that the ladies received are rather ugly. I sure don’t blame the guys for keeping their watches (though I wondered if Cho would have returned his for something more classy and less flashy).
The system of a memory palace isn't a new thing RE Hannibal Lecter and his own memory palace but something that has been around for quite some time. It's use here by Jane is very clever but really don't use it in any casino...you will be on the street on your arse very quickly
Bad writing, there is no possible way for him to memorize every position in a deck of cards in his memory palace. There are more ways to shuffle a deck than there are stars in the universe. 8.06e+67 ways to shuffle a deck of cards.
My understanding is that he doesn't memorize all possible deck positions. Rather, he has 52 characters and 52 rooms. For each shuffle, he places the 52 characters in one of the 52 rooms. This is quite a standard memorization technique. Though of course, the possibility of having a memory as strong as Jane's is certainly a bit of an exaggeration.
There was a talent on Penn and Teller fools us where the man could tell where any card is on the deck no matter how he shuffled it. Penn basically said the trick is that he knows where every card in the deck is regardless of what card you picked and how he shuffled it. While a stretch if someone else does it it is sort of feasible if you're good and practiced enough.
This is probably the video in which Cho has smiled the most
We don't need to be mentalists to know that must be at least his fourth or fifth beer. ;P
That's exactly what I was about to comment...
Where was Cho?
So true manh 🤣
I know…weird.
I like how jane didn't make a big deal out of the ladies giving back the jewelry, just calmly said "I understand" and moved on. A gentlemanly reaction from a gentlemanly offering.
2:35 "so where's our stuff?" damn i love Cho :D
This cast was the best version of the show. My absolute favourite series, ever.
indeed
Better than Monk!!!
True. Zero woke bs. Pure art and dedicated acting to realistic plots.
Rigsby's face at 2:45 is like "Daddy, where's my gift?"
Jane really is just their sugar daddy
@@catherineb8222 "who's your daddy?"
The way they didn’t give back the watches lol

I come back to this scene because of that bit!
One of the rarest episodes where Cho actually smiles.
And yes, I know others have said the same......because it's true.
That's my boys. And my heart flutters ☺️💗

i thought he put it into like those charity dumpster thingies and then got more money gambling at the end for the girls mother.
I was gona say this isn't how it went down.. He dropped them into a charity bin :D
No he put it in charity box, the medical bills were paid with more money he earned gambling later in the episode.
you mean the writers who wrote etc, dont you?

He knows what he want.

these were the best moments of the show, where it's both heartwarming, funny and you get to see them smile even cho
This is the most wholesome thing i saw.🤣
3:07 3:14 Prob the only happy face Cho made all season
Watch his face in last episode when they get married, that was the biggest achievement of Jane

It took my husband many more seasons to believe me tho lol.
Cho and Rigsby noticed too. See that exchange of glances when Jane said 'I'd have bought world peace if I could '.
That may be why she gave it back … and why Jane happily accepted it so readily.
he also gave Lisbon's gift first and notice how her necklace and earrings are green. that's the color of her eyes
One of the best shows ever... So sad that this ended.
I'm not giving mine back! That's my boys live it up! That scene is just so natural...I almost see myself in Cho's shoes! 🙂
That's my boys live it up
1st thing he said I’m not giving it up. I bet they want to go back to the casino with him.😂😂😂
That's my boy's 🤣
Live it up xD
Wheres our stuff lol🤣🤣
1:24 I love it!
Amanda Righetti is already a world class jewel. She doesn’t need any extra frosting.
Ahh, I love this show as much as Dr.House
Once in the same fall tv yr, Dr House & Patrick Jane both began the season-opening episodes in a prison cell. Funny coincidence
If I remember correctly, in S1E1 of Dr. House, the patient was played by Robin Tunney (Teresa Lisbon)

How I love this show!!!
4:17 it's real, I concur
And for this piece of gem, I give a like. Jane will still find a way to give it to them or just mail it to their houses.😂
Or find the most thoughtful way possible to invest the money for them, which they won't even know he did until they are old and retired.
That’s my boys 😎😎
I love this scene so much I might as well bookmark it.
Best scene in whole of mentalist 😂
Definition of disarming smile.
Hilarious!! Enjoyed it

Jane made 1 million dollars at poker...while in prison.
For Jane, money is expendable. He always knows how to get more.

Where we can watch this series.
Amazon prime for me.
Anyone have an idea of what kind of watches those are?
My minds eye is blind... so no mind palace for me.
What a joy watching Cho smile, lol

cho looks weird smiling like that.
Poor Van Pelt …
I actually think the gifts that the ladies received are rather ugly. I sure don’t blame the guys for keeping their watches (though I wondered if Cho would have returned his for something more classy and less flashy).
Or pawn it off and take the cash to use for something else
Cho used the money for an affordable rugged timekeeper, a slick japanese bike and some guns.
That’s the most expensive things in the gift shop.
Van Pelt looks good, doesn’t she?

This series needs a reboot
You really should had put also the part where he gives all the extra money to the girl's sick mother
