Seriously this is a great time considering it's been years since you raced a mile. You will only get faster. First up mile race is hard.
Kill’n mile effort! Awesome video!!! felt uniquely you and Floberg. Passed by you a couple of times on Chicago’s Lake Front. You have one of the best running channels on YT, cheering you on for that sub 2:20 goal!
Not necessary a bad thing that you've run less mileage, let the body absorb.
Was thinking the same thing.
Couldn’t let their be more bot comments than real comments… Your the man Matt 🙏
Wow absolut great Performance… and you are right now faster than the Athlete Special… 😮😂😂
Amazing video and good try to test yourself! 🤩🤩🤩
I love to run mile, 3 and 5k to check my current physical consistency
All the best from Russia, Mr Fox 😀
Thank you and all the best to you
Good run especially as looked a bit solo after halfway. I had a quick look at 1500/Mile PBs of those in the UK who have broken 2:20 this year and there a fair number at 2:19 with very similar times to a 4:17.1 Mile (or 3:58 rough equivalent 1500), some slower and even two that don't appear to have ever run a 1500 or Mile or indeed anything shorter. So if were to think is this mile time quick enough for a sub 2:20 performer then mostly certainly. I guess how relevant it really is though another debate. That said, the guys who have run sub 2:10 either have or very likely could do a sub 4 mile. So of course the faster you can run any distance the faster your potential has to be in another one.
Well said Tim 🙏
Epic mile time, Matt! I've no doubt you'll shave off even more seconds going forward.
You can tell floberg helped because the audio quality went up 💯 lol great run
Everything went up 😂
I love all this thinking out loud! I always wondered what elite athletes thought about pre race!
This is such a Floberg video 🤣👏🏻
Awesome job Matt. Given your goal for raw speed for the marathon, do you and coach think the next step should be to not have to worry about race tactics and do a time trial effort with 2 legit pro pacers?
Those Highschoolers really kicked your butt 😂. Great race Matt!!
Schooled
Very intrigued by what stryd is doing
What are your running goals
wow crazy quality
Good stuff but Eric missed the vomiting 🤮😂
Floberg is to vomiting as Matt Fox is to calf cramps - tune in to episode 5, coming soon.
@@EricFloberg 🤣🤣 yes you have it down without even missing a Stride 🤮👍🤮
Comeback with marathon training 😊
Great effort, looking forward to seeing what you’re capable of this year. Onward! 👏
speedsuit + training camp in South Africa = faster mile 🤪
Thanks for the continued content, it's amazing.
Have you got a new coach no?
Love that you've jumped back into a 1500, Matt! Keep it up, man!
Everything about this video is interesting and epic, good job!
Crap super hero music spoiled a good video
Man! 14:00 would be awesome to see!!

Are you still working with Max Frankel?
No
Awesome stuff love your content! You not coached by Max Frankel anymore? Maybe I missed something or an episode maybe but I was just wondering since I saw him in previous videos of the series !
No I am not, it wasn’t a good fit. Plus I wanted to run with a good team with a coach who’s coached many to under 2:20 before
@@sweatelite good luck! Love your stuff
You really talked him up on your podcast, what was it that you didn't like? Will he not be part of Sweat Elite anymore?
