- I have always wanted to sit down and put together drag racing compilation videos and documentaries but felt they wouldn't be the quality that I would like to see. However, I have finally decided to give it a try. Here is a video trailer for the first story I am planning to tell.
One of my favorite Pro Stock teams in the 1990's was The Dodge Boys of Scott Geoffrion and Darrell Alderman. There were so many unique and unusual circumstances surrounding the team in the 9 years campaigning the Dodge factory cars that people still speculate and debate 30 years later. It is going to be a deep dive into that era of the sport and I hope you all enjoy learning about it as much as i am enjoying making it.

Multiple Teams used Nitrous in NHRA Pro Stock. Why do you think Jerry Eckman was tossed out ?
Some of them used an emoty battery case with the "Sneaky Pete" bottle inside. Then ran the Nitrous Line inside the fake battery cable to the front of the car. The lines were also fiberglassed into the inside of the hood scoops over each carburetor.
Any little advantage was huge.
Super excited I was at Indy with my dad when the backfire seen around the world happened. He was the photographer that got the famous shot of the flames in the scoop. He was also in Ohio when Jerry Eckmans oil tank exploded for "No reason at all." being a photographer for NHRA he got a glimpse of the pro stock nitrous controversy from the inside, as it was brewing. His stories on the matter where fascinating. In Eckmans case my dad more or less help seale his fate. When pieces of his accumulator tank landed at my dads feet he picked it up. And Immediately dropped it. He later told the NHRA officials it was "Ice Cold."
Oh this will be exciting to watch. Lots of success and turmoil with the team during the 90s. Looking forward to it Dave!
I can't wait to see it. I still think they used nitrous.
Doesn't matter what you THINK, the statement in this Video from NHRA stated the found NOTHING, PERIOD! So all of you can "SPECULATE" all you want, there is NO EVIDENCE to back ANY claim the did!!!!!!
When is this going to be released
Cool video, one of those great multi layered stories. Look forward to more
I am very excited for this!
Looking forward to watching this and learn more one of my dads favorite teams the dodge boys
Looks like it's going to be great Dave!
So the trailer is 3months old. Is there going to be a longer documentary on this?
Looking forward to it
Seems that nobody remembers Warren Johnson on nhra today said when asked about the "theory" of nitrous in pro stock, he replied and I quote "there's nothing in the rule book that says nitrous is prohibited" I fell off the couch ran to the nhra rule book and low and behold nothing. 2 weeks later in the national dragster magazine there was an addendum to the rule book stating that blowers, turbos and nitrous is strictly prohibited in pro stock racing. Still have the rule book and the old national dragster magazine. Funny how conspiracy theories never end.
you going to upload more races
Hell yeah
Those Dodge cars were torn down repeatedly after almost every race for two seasons. Do you think for one second the NHRA could not find something if it was there. Ignorance is bliss.
I worked shoulder to shoulder with Mike Sullivan, Darrell, and Scott during the 1997 Pro Truck exhibition year. All are awesome guys and there wasn't a word said about any of it the entire deal. Darrell asked me of I had a car back home and I told him I drove a nitrous car for my Dad that ran 7.20s and he never flinched. He just said that's pretty damn fast! I think DA had been 6.93 at the time in pro stock car.
I Think To This Day Warren Johnson Had Something To Do With The Break In
I couldn't stand Warren Johnson. He's a poor f****** loser. He had it out for scott and Dodge.
I feel the same way about it.
Funny how after the "break in" it was like loosing the recipe for ice ... lightning in a bottle , face it more like nitrous in a hidden bottle.
That team didn't have the financial backing to recover from a half million dollar situation like that. Love how the crybaby gm powered assholes think they know everything.
When will it be out?
