Funny how they changed the city skyline, so as to not have to render all the buildings in the distance. It looks decent, although it does make it look more closed in.

Yeah I think the patch that gets released or got released at midnight and later on is going to be the first / real patch. That's why it looks so bad because it's not technically out yet. I'm thinking this is going to look really good after a while like you said.
It shouldn't really be called a remaster on switch - AA and AC are basically straight ports of the original release, still running on UE3, compared to the revamped UE4 releases in the "return to arkham" version for the ps4/xbox one. That being said, for me at least, it's actually better this way because 1) the ports of the UE4 versions would probably run worse on switch, 2) I actually prefer the original look - they messed up the colours and the atmosphere of the game (especially Asylum), not to mention the plastic character models with the remasters.
Hey digital alysum is 6.8gb but if you have the physical like I do then it's all on the cart. But arkham city is a 11.8gb download and arkham knight is 27.8gb
So it's essentially the 360 version which is good since it removes some of the pretty bad "re-mastering" that was in the PS4 versions of Asylum and City. Knight like others have said definitely looks rough on account of its relative newness.
I dont like the PS4 versions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Maybe because I played them first on Xbox 360. It looks like the Nintendo Switch versions of both games were based on the Xbox 360/PS3 versions, which I like more. Now Arkham Kinght.... it does look rough. Anyway, I think it's an amazing trilogy to play on Switch, and Arkham City is still imo the best super-hero game.
Interesting the switch version of city looks like a massive upgrade over wii u. All 3 games looker darker on switch than on ps4 and with that some of the detail is lost. More so with knight has you cant see the rain has much on both the suit and batmobile on switch. Still knight looks a lot better on switch than i was expecting.
I am happy that the original versions of the games are on the Switch. I was previously stuck with the Return to Arkham versions, which while good, did look really awkward (mainly Asylum). Now, Asylum looks better than ever (I'm currently four hours in and it's great). I can't wait for City.
As expected for Arkham Knight, much of the lighting and textures are turned down from the PS4/Xbone/PC version. Also a removal of the motion blur that the original. It looks ok but it’s disappointing to see much of the iconic lighting and shadows missing. Although if you never played it you probably wouldn’t notice. The other two, since they’re basically 7th gen titles, not much is different although are weirdly darker than any version. I wonder if the gamma settings are different. Frame rate is kinda disappointing though as it doesn’t look stable at all in any of these games. Batmobile seems to be the heaviest which isn’t surprising as that was often the heaviest thing on the PC version of AK. AC and AA should have really had better frame rates
I'm sure they'll find a way to patch Asylum and City. But it's hard to say it they will ever be locked if they're running on an unlocked framerate. Sad because these versions look ideal. Though so far at least in city in the trailer the pixel quality seemed compressed, so I should probably stick with my 360 version. I played the original Asylum on 360 over 20 times start to finish, probably more. So I eventually no matter how much I loved the graphics and everything the way they are noticed their limit of detail. My point being while originally it seemed like a remastered Asylum was not necessary, it did add to the graphics and textures enough to satisfy if you can put up with a slight alteration to Joker's perfect shaded face for example. So what I'm saying is, it's a lighter version, but if you adjust the contrast, color and brightness just right, it looks amazing compared to how it was originally presented and on PS5 it runs at its best. Though Return to Arkham City, I just can't get over what they did to Hugo strange and how jarringly worst things look in the opening sequence. That's why I stick to the 360 version for that one.

It looks like Asylum and City are just up-rezzed versions of the 360 version. Greater texture detail and sharper but same lighting. Maybe this was to allow for more resources reserved for Knight to look as good as possible. But the side effect is that Knight ends up not looking as good as the first two. Instead of looking like a 360 version of Knight, it's a de-scaled version of PS4
If anything the switch version of asylum is at the very least on par with the original visually, and depending on your taste it could be even better. Like, obviously the PS4/Xbox One remaster gave us far better resolutions, but the vibe to the game is completely removed cause of the lighting/model changes. The Switch version being based on the original version has none of the "enhancements", therefore none of the inherent drawbacks. But the darkness compared to the original is personally even better. Like having the game on minimum brightness and gamma, love it. I think it adds to the eerie vibe. Obviously in some areas the added darkness hides some elements, no doubt intentional to save precious performance and horsepower. Basically, if you're gonna play Asylum, go for the original or switch versions. Sure the resolution will be lower but damn that atmosphere is unrivalled
Both used has prerendered fmv cutscenes. I have no idea why they didnt just make the PS360 cutscenes a higher res for return to arkham instead of redoing em.
PS4 was the Return to Arkham Remasters of Arkham Arkham/City, not the original versions. So, it's an unfair comparison; It should've only been compared with the PS3/XB360, PC or Wii U ports!
Arkham Asylum/City run comparably to their 360/PS3 versions which are the superior versions IMO to play these games. The graphical limitations at the time forced them to def rely on shadows and lighting more which fit the charm of the Batman universe so well, as opposed to the Arkham remasters that just look too well-lit for my taste
Asylum and City are fine. As a matter of time I prefer the dark shadows of the Switch version over the lighter tone of the PS4, despite the later having more resolution. Knight is really problematic. It seems there are far less polygons in the Switch version, but there problem lies in the frame rate while driving the Batmobile. It is really bad!
I think of all the console versions; the Switch version of the first two games look the best (minus the fact they are not 60fps). Knight obviously looks worse on the Switch compared to the rest, but not bad, all things considered.
Bro the game is running the 360/ps3 versions of arkham asylum and city, not the remasters. There is no reason or excuse that the original versions can't run at 60fps on the switch!! I understand why knight is downgraded but the original 360/Ps3s versions should be running in 60 fps on the Nintendo switch! The only upgrade you are getting with those 2 titles are a graphical upgrade in docked mode from 720p to 1080p!! absolutely absurd.
Looks just like a fine tuned 360 port which I’m ok with. Switch should handle it just fine knight tho yeah I’ve seen it not thinking about it tho. But for asylum and city it might be the best way to play these games again just look at the cutscenes and the models especially Batman god I missed the og Batman! Exactly what I wanted too so I don’t mind. Edit: brightest isn’t bright enough 🤔 There’s a brightness slider don’t say I didn’t do anything for ya 🤫
We all know Knight was going to be too demanding for the switch, I wish they used Origins in this Bundle instead of knight, Making the switch bundle an updated version of that old Bundle released for PS3 in 2014 which include Asylum,City and Origins. PS: Asylum combat on the switch looks a bit laggy compared to 360, I don’t know why that would be the case.
I think ps4 captures the details in the darker scenes and game better, but (minus the opening scene in Arkham Knight) the switch dose better during bright moments of both cutscenes and gameplay
The switch version is noticeably darker than the original Xbox 360 version. It makes the faces look so darkened with shadows. The contrast is all wrong. Look at the intro of Asylum when Batman first brings the Joker in to see what I’m talking about.
It's an amazing comparing. However, PS4 is clearly brighter. Maybe you have to adjust brightness at same level. Ok, it's a characteristic, but maybe we could've seen the difference more clearly. PS4 has better reflections. However sometimes it's not so clear if it's because of the brightness or not. Anyway I thing they made a good job.
Even though the graphics hadn't improved as much in the ps3/Xbox 360 but damn the atmosphere and shadows were better to feel the intensity than the ps4 version.
No the wii u version came with an extra exclusive outfit for both batman and catwoman that made them more powerful. You can still change the outfit in the settings
Batman and Catwoman both wore these fancy pantsy armored suits by default in the Wii U version (hence why it’s “Armored Edition”) that were kinda the precursor to the electric gloves in Origins. I assuuuuuume their normal costumes were also selectable, but ai’ve never played l, so I don’t know for sure
Oh wow nice that version still wows me aside from the Unlocked fps that targets 60fps but it's sloppy but always wonder how Riddler's revenge runs because that mode is 60fps on Xbox one X and now Series X because of the X Enhanced.@@linkaran512
Hopefully with patches, they can fix Arkham knight. Haven’t played the first two since Xbox and ps3 days and I bought the return to Arkham bundle for 5$. I’ll play that first so the price can go down for these games
PS4 Arkham Ayslum's overworld and rain effects are 10 times better than the original. The skylines actually look different from each other, the world is not covered in the ugly green filter from the original, and its raining!
the three games are more darkier on switch than the ps4 and xbox360, but the knight on switch hass less graphical details than ps4 and xbox 360 and is more darkier too

Both used has prerendered fmv cutscenes. I have no idea why they didnt just make the PS360 cutscenes a higher res for return to arkham instead of redoing em.
There are parts where switch looks really good but ps4 mostly has it beat
PS4 was the Return to Arkham Remasters of Arkham Arkham/City, not the original versions. So, it's an unfair comparison; It should've only been compared with the PS3/XB360, PC or Wii U ports!
City and Asylum look great, while Knight looks horrendous. However, if they fix the stuttering, it will definitely be worth it.
The PS4 had the worst stuttering.
@@TonyKanameKuran This one looks way worse
@@theraymunator Your ass hurt looks way beyond worse!
@@TonyKanameKuran PS4 did not have the stutter. Only the original release of the Xbox One and PC versions.
@@crestofhonor2349 Before the patch.
Never got to play Arkham Knight before, really enjoying it on Switch!
Excellent video!
Arkham Knight can still challenge some decent graphics cards for sure
Any major glitches? Still regret my purchase of MK1 on Switch.
I think of all the console versions; the Switch version of the first two games look the best (minus the fact they are not 60fps). Knight obviously looks worse on the Switch compared to the rest, but not bad, all things considered.
Who the hell needs 60fps?
@@TonyKanameKuran It's a nice thing for these games even if it's not needed. They are all fairly easy to run today, especially Asylum and City
Looks like the engine and graphics are based on the Xbox 360 version for the first two games.
The Wii U seems to be on the wrong setting for capture video, it only works in Limited RGB
If they release a next gen patch for switch 2 these will defo be worth picking up
Bro the game is running the 360/ps3 versions of arkham asylum and city, not the remasters.
Edit: brightest isn’t bright enough 🤔
There’s a brightness slider don’t say I didn’t do anything for ya 🤫
So is it a port of the 360 version? It's hard to tell
Didn’t expect the sketch to actually look better.
4;49 looks like Nintendo let Catwomen have her original suit oh wait nevermind the Wii u can simply unlock that to oops
Anyone know what time the game is available to download, Central standard time?
i live in the uk and, have been trying to find out the times
I think ps4 captures the details in the darker scenes and game better, but (minus the opening scene in Arkham Knight) the switch dose better during bright moments of both cutscenes and gameplay
If I was buying this, I’d use an mclassic to help with the resolution of Arkham knight
Arkham knight is on gamepass
@@franktorres2915 and it’s been on sale pretty often on pc
4K gamer pro too
MClassic aint gonna help with that.
The fps needs some more patching.
The switch version is noticeably darker than the original Xbox 360 version. It makes the faces look so darkened with shadows. The contrast is all wrong. Look at the intro of Asylum when Batman first brings the Joker in to see what I’m talking about.
So its not even the return to arkham versions??
It's an amazing comparing. However, PS4 is clearly brighter. Maybe you have to adjust brightness at same level. Ok, it's a characteristic, but maybe we could've seen the difference more clearly. PS4 has better reflections. However sometimes it's not so clear if it's because of the brightness or not.
Anyway I thing they made a good job.
1:57 - 2:16 😮🤯😈☠️ Increible Nintendo Switch¡¡¡¡¡
Switch version looks alot better. Ps4 looks like they got the bright lights on 😂
Even though the graphics hadn't improved as much in the ps3/Xbox 360 but damn the atmosphere and shadows were better to feel the intensity than the ps4 version.
You can't compare PS4 to the 360 it has to be to the Xbox One
4:49 - why is she wearing a completely different suit in the Wii U version? Censorship? Really weird...
@@theendofit Oh I see, I've not played these games so I didn't really know, it's just something I noticed in this video and found interesting!
@MJTRadio, you are correct, once you beat the game or use the costume cheat code, you can select their original Arkham city costumes.
Oh wow nice that version still wows me aside from the Unlocked fps that targets 60fps but it's sloppy but always wonder how Riddler's revenge runs because that mode is 60fps on Xbox one X and now Series X because of the X Enhanced.@@linkaran512
Love that they've made it darker!
This is one of those games where I say OG >>>>>>> Remaster. OG Asylum and City just look better than the Return to Arkham versions.
Trilogy? Where's Arkham Origins? That games mad awesome, ive been aching to play that again on current consoles
But yet, they increased the contrast in city and asylum, maybe reduce the visible flaws.
I like how Asylum and City look on switch
Switch ports are god awful, I only use mine for exclusives
So Dark you sure you're not from the DC univer- Oh wait...
Mh i was asking myself if it would based on the Remaster or the Original PS360 Version.
So they decided for the original
Looks awesome on Switch
Hopefully they can add an fsr patch on Arkham knight
I remember then the ps4 of Batman Arkham asylum came out, everyone thought that the ps4 port wasn't as good and actually worse than the 360.
The Remasters Look bad in cutscenes but awesome in the game itself. the wall and floor details are just insane
Not great but not terrible for being on the switch. maybe minus the Asylum being darker.
For it make it look better the Darker tone
the three games are more darkier on switch than the ps4 and xbox360, but the knight on switch hass less graphical details than ps4 and xbox 360 and is more darkier too
Its not everything else. The wiiU version (arkham city armoured edition) runs smoother than the new switch one.
Why xbox 360 and not Xbox one?
so gld they didn't base the switch version on the ps4 one. Remasters shold look better. That's a thing the ps4 version didn't do.
Asylum looks way too dark
