I hear Jared Verse and Braden Fiske mentioned a lot as transfers that came in and thrived... but the player that started it all, who is individually a LARGE part of where we are right now by single-handedly changing the program with his demeanor and work ethic, a player that jumped into my all-time favorites list in one year....... Jermaine Johnson 11.
I certainly agree with you on Jermaine however are you forgetting Jordan Travis was a transfer as well? He was two seasons before Jermaine.
Dawg! JJ started something and left a legacy. Very thankful he chose FSU
@@jamesb0255yeah but Jermaine was the first guy that showed that the portal could be sustainable for FSU under Norvell. Jordan transferred under Willie and didn’t play
@tnole260 Have you forgotten about the Boston College game where Jordan came in for James Blackman?
I'm just going off at the parameters that the OP set in his post. Yes Jermaine was great but he didn't single-handedly change our program! If anybody deserves that credit it's Jordan Travis and since Travis was a transfer he qualifies whether he was recruited by Willie or Mike.
@Skybolt211 did not say anything about who transferred under what coach so I am just following his parameters.
Several transfers have been instrumental in our programs come back and success under Mike Norvell.
It is my opinion that one player is solely responsible. But, if anybody deserves that moniker it's Jordan Travis above all else.
Go Noles!
@@jamesb0255 He was talking about Mike Norvell gaining the reputation of being able to take guys in and helping them elevate their game in a year or two, and helping their draft stock, while still being guys that benefit the culture and don't detract from the program. Yes, Jordan Travis has done a ton for the program, but he came early in his college career and had multiple years at FSU. He feels like he bleeds garnet and gold. He didn't play much his first couple years, and he feels a lot more like a player that was developed over time. That's a complete different conversation, and yes, he is one of the greatest Noles ever. But he's not adding to Mike Norvell's reputation of becoming a portal guru, since CMN did not even bring him here. My point was JD mentioned Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, etc. as being extremely successful short-time transfers, but I remember Jared Verse saying he decided to come after talking to JJ11. And JJ11's quiet professionalism, head-down work-hard never complain always positive attitude, go out on game-day and play violently at 110% every single second, etc. did change the mentality of those around him, which has since been passed on to other guys. So yes, he did single-handedly CHANGE the program, whether a lot or a little. As a transplanted one and done who came here and became Nole all the way to the bone, who still comes back and helps recruit guys. That's not saying that lots of other incredible players haven't affected the program a ton in other ways, Jordan Travis probably most of all.
Didn't even mention Trey Benson! 10 G, 6 Carries, 22 yards at oregon. B2B 900 yard rusher and 24 total Total TD's at FSU. Number 1 RB in the class undisputed because of his decision to play for Norvell and the noles
plus at oregon he broke 2 or 3 things in his legs and some said he wouldnt play again but he did and he was an unknown when he went to FSU but then in the spring game he showed us whats up and i knew from that point he was gunna be really good. and now he is gunna be a 1st or 2nd round for the NFL Draft
900 yards... Benson topped 100 yards rushing once last year, a great performance of 200 yards. 700 yards in 12 games and he's the best draft prospect in 2024? Is that coming from Mel Kiper?
Exactly.
They beat lsu going away, worse than any other school in college football could! the blocked extra point was 2 years ago…
I’m confident FSU is gonna tear it up in the ACC again this year. Can’t see Clemson nor Miami beating us. Not saying we are going 13-0 again, but we will be really good.
Renardo Green.
Learn his name.
He will be a star in the NFL.
❤❤💪🏾💯
FSU is going 12-0 again and playing even more consistent on both sides of the ball than last season. Go Noles!!!

Fastest and most talented team DJ U has had as well!

Great show JD. Love your in depth knowledge of the teams you are covering. FSU is loaded with talent that is itching to shine.
We got a standard here with a mad scientist, coach Norville. I believe this team is gonna be better all around top to bottom let’s go dominate.
Floor is 9-3 ceiling 12-0!
still 9-3 is still good as long as we beat the rivals but we do still get a bowl game

You guys are the ones that need to do your research… We already said FSU was going undefeated and winning the ACC last season. They’re doing it again this year. Bookmark it.

I been a florida state fan all my life this is a national championship team fear the spear 💪
i was stating this last year. people called me crazy yet it happened. was 100% correct outside of the snub.
the unknown on fsu is rhe WR group . if they show out fsu will be just as good as last year
Reloaded with the spirit of a rising program. Let the haters hate, that’s what they do.
Gonna have wait and see
DJ is better than any quarterback we’ve had probably over the last four years
Badass baby
I on that page coach Norville, the mad scientist and big Tony T are quarterback whispers he’ll be a top eight draft pick
imagine if norvel start recruiting at at a osu ga bama level its over for cfb period. once norvell starts bringing in top 5 classes along with what hes able to do in the port its GGs future legend and the fact he chose to stay at FSU when now we all know mike was bamas first choice speaks the kinda of person he is. you gonna see mike next to bobby in tally.
As ling as you are bringing on top 20 classes you have the talent to win it all. Clemson and Michigan have proven this
I love Mike Norvell, man. He bleeds Garnet & Gold. Let's go.

@@TylerBluTheConqueror777cupcake schedule like they ain’t fighting tooth and nail to get out of the acc
That’s what I like to hear go Noles 🙏
The underclassmen from the previous two years who were freshmen, sophomores and their redshirt versions are joining the "elder statesmen,"the seniors who have been with Nrvell since the beginning along with the 2024 class of super talented freshman, like Kam Davis, Lawayne McCoy, Camdon Frier, Micah Danzy, Cai Bates, Charles Lester, plus another great group of transfers are all going to ball out this year. Guys like Hykeem Williams, Kentron Poitier, Darion Williamson and Deuce Spann who were sort of overshadowed by Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson will be getting a lot more burn now that the Dynamic Duo are off to the NFL.
Marvin Jones Jr., an FSU legacy, the son of FSU's great linebacker, Marvin "ShadeTree" Jones, will be this year's Jermaine Johnson II success story who also came to FSU from Georgia and parlayed his way as a 1st round draft choice. He and Pat Payton will be some monster bookends that opposing QB's will face.
Ill tell ya J.D. the guy who I expect to be the 2nd coming of Herschel Walker is Kam Davis who also looks the part. He is built like a Mack truck and in addition to playing QB & RB, DAvis played other positions as well. As a junior, Davis ran for 2,736 yards, scored 20 touchdowns and averaged 16.7 yards per carry. He was named Georgia’s Class AAA Player of the Year in 2022. Through his first three seasons of varsity football, Davis rushed for 5,172 yards, 36 TD's and a 16.1-yard average! He's also a talented baseball player too (shades of Bo Jackson). Even though Roydell Williams will be getting the bulk of the carries as heir apparent to Trey Benson', Davis is just too damn good to be riding the pine.
1. Beat Clemson 2. Beat Miami 3. Beat Florida ..... only 3 wins I need :D ... nah I think we might drop a couple games this year but not much of a fall-off. This year I'm thinking we will drop one regular season game and then make the playoff and ultimately lose.
Finally a realistic noles fan.
I need a Progrum shirt. Where’s the merch.
What you seen in the Orange Bowl or after Travis got hurt Louisville and UF.
A great team and dominant defense!
For those of you who would question DJ U's likelihood of success at FSU, I offer a position away from him; Keon Coleman. Keon Coleman is proof that transfers can take a team from 10-3 to 13-1.
Need WRs and DJ to develop a rhythm. He needs to know what guys are able to handle his throws the best and run the routes he’s best at throwing. If we can get that dialed in an expedient manner, then there’s a shot of another excellent season. If not, we could take a step back to 8 wins. Just have to develop the rapport on offense and get some pressure on defense. The defensive line needs to get going. I like the linebackers. Could be a really good year. I’m interested in how things transpire in the spring game.
Hat tip to Norvell for building FSU back to respectful and competitive, after the mess Willy Taggart created. FSU has come along way since the Jimbo collapse and the Willy Taggart bad hire.
FSU has the seventh largest footprint on the college football program. Don't be surprised if those big feet stomp football opponents on the field .
That doesn't make sense

To the dumpster, lol.
Why is on3 buttering up fsu after they dissed them on the making of the playoffs
Probably do well as long as they don’t have to play Georgia again.
I think they are scheduled for the 26/27 seasons! Cant wait
15 0 go noles
Dbu past and present all time fsu that's who haters do what you do best and no rigged voters this time
FSU will probably go 10-2 and maybe repeat as ACC champs
FSU has another talented roster but DJ is not half as good as people pretend from a decision making perspective or from a stats perspective
Depends, if he makes a jump like reports are saying (he had a fantastic scrimmage, improved for sure) then yes we go back to back and bring full force this time around instead of opt outs. If he’s stagnate, then I’d vote 10-2 or 9-3
Miami is going to be state champions this year 🌀 🙌
When you here “chips on shoulders” and “potential” it’s gonna be a long season 😂
Motivation matters more than talent in college football! Thats what makes it so great
10-2, it's not as good a team as last year.
