Rayman 1: Part 24: The Final Battle Against Mr. Dark & Ending

- After going through 3 different areas of Candy Chateau, Rayman can now finally face Mr. Dark, himself.
First, Mr. Dark steals your Punch power away by having it hang above you from a rope, he then shoots spiraling blasts at you while also surrounding and blocking you with pillars of fire, you have to dodge it all for a little while until some of the Electoons you saved bring the Fist back to you and free you from your fire prison.
"YOU'RE DOOMED RAYMAN..."
Then Mr. Dark tries another trick: He creates chimera of the game's first 5 bosses: Moskito, Mr. Sax, Mr. Stone, Mama, and Mr. Skops!
The first chimera combines Mr. Stone's body with Mr. Skops' head and claw. Punch his health away everytime he throws his claw.
The second chimera involves two Viking Mamas and their Space Mama laser cannons flying with Moskito's body. You can either punch them, or let their lasers hit each other. Either way, they both share the same health bar.
The third and final chimera combines Moskiro's head, Mama's body, and Mr. Sax's hands and feet together, and on top of this, Rayman is shrunk down for this. Run and dodge this thing's giant stomps and then, punch it after it lands.

And... that's it. "YOU'VE SAVED THE WOOOOOOOOOORLD!"
But-but... I know I've beaten Mr. Dark's chimeras, but I never got to actually fight the guy, himself. After he left to let his chimera's to beat Rayman, he never showed up again. Did his panic and run away? I just don't know.
I'm glad to have finally beaten this game, but knowing that's how the bad guy is "defeated" kinda leaves me wondering. He never even shows up with a vengeance ANY of the sequels...
Either way, the credits shows multiple pics of Rayman having a great time at the beach with his friends, including the Electoons snowboarding, Tarayzan, and Joe. Even some of the enemies and almost all of the bosses besides Mr. Dark are with them, and they seem to be on good terms, now!

Compared to other series I've worked on, I'm not sure about making a playthrough of Rayman 2 just yet. I do have the game for PS2, though, but I've never it yet besides the Dreamcast demo.
Stay tuned for more playthroughs and maybe someday I'll tackle that game, too!

Thankfully in the remake, among many other improvements, the ending is 10x more climactic including a pair of mr dark fights
Actually, he transforms in hybrids of the prevuous and gets defeated for good (in the Atari Jaguar version he escapes scared, in the Sega Saturn his definitive defeat is emphasized by the broken stained glass window in the GBC version his death is confirmed), in the remake, Redemption, the battle is different and more prolonged.

@kingitosinosa6029 Rayman redemption, it's a free to play PC port that changes everything. The game play is super fun and it adds a ton of levels and bosses.

The music of the Atari Jaguar look that's epic.
After the outstanding effort the developers of Rayman Redemption did, this original 'final boss fight' looks feeble.
I one day want to cover that whole game!
What was Mr. Dark thinking?
It's a shame this scene with fist stealing and Mr Dark about to destroy Rayman is not on the Redemption version. They could develop it with 1 or 2 passages on the castle without the fist to create suspense.
I’m currently doing Rayman Redemption on my RUclips Channel 😊 I agree with you. I wished they kept the part where Mr Dark steals Rayman’s Fist and then traps him with fire walls with no way out and then a pair of Electoons rescues Rayman by giving him his Fist back and then a cutscene takes place where Mr. Dark is angry that Rayman got his Fist back and sends his minions to destroy Rayman and Rayman defeats them and then another cutscene takes place where Mr Dark is even more angry and he decides to Fight Rayman himself and then Rayman defeats him and then Rayman gets ready to fight Mr. Dark again in The Final Showdown 👍
@@billycurr It's exactly what I was thinking. The first part of the final fights with Mr Dark trying to kill Rayman could be more longest and difficult for the player. Mr Dark dominating Rayman and deleting all his powers to trap him on flames since Electoons saving him with giving back his fist.
If one day, Ryemanni making an update of a game, maybe it would be cool to ask him to reintroduce this original drama scene again with improving.

This game is so hard, climbing the company ladder is easier.
I have never understood why someone would develop a game this hard when the target player is about 10 years old.
Plot that is either in the manual or in the internet but definetely not understandable by just playing.
Main villain characters whose intentions are never revealed or very generic and final boss fight, if you get there, that is a joke. You don’t actual fight Mr Dark but only his henchmen and after the fight everything is so rushed, no time for actually contemplating what you just did.
And well, I never got past the music world, so even passing a level alive was an achievement to me, while Crash Bandicoot games I always manage to get past 100%, get secret characters, beat N. Oxide in almost each track in CTR, etc.
H*ll, even MGS games, whose target player is mich older are very easy compared to Rayman.
In Rayman I always felt like every fall, enemy and corner of the map was a serious threat for my life, forget about fighting a boss and figuring out how to even bring damage. And if you die, you need to pass 4 levels alive to have another chance with the boss, hoping this time you figure out how to bring damage and win.
I haed cheats to unlock all levels and things only get worse. Always wondered who approved the release of such a game.
People were better at games back then, instead of needing to be handed unlimited health and told where to go on a silver platter like ones of the past 15+ years, so they were much more challenging. Look at Morrowind compared to Skyrim, for example.
But yes I agree, some parts of this game are extremely tedious and wonder how the fuck it is a kids game (I played this in 1997, when I was 7).

I am from 1992 and loved games like MediEvil, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo 2 or other games from 1990s that were hard.
I don't like new games where they handover to you Supercars from the beginning or where things are way too easy.
However, Rayman is supposed to be a game for kids that a 90s kid around 10-12 years old must be able to finish fairly easily.
Reality is, this game is kind of cursed, it is so hard to reach the point where you can save the game, that I always hated it.
After a session fo Rayman you need to take a break and relax by going back to real life. University exams or real life problems are nothing compared to completing just a chapter of this game.
Having only watched the boss compilation, I thought that power-up was Mr. Dark's left hand.

Shitty game, if you ask me, the difficulty level is insane and Crash Bandicoot or Spyro saga is much better: gameplay, plot, graphics, boss fight, secrets…there is no comparison, really!
At least the music is badass 😅
