We always called jet skis “gnats”. They buzz around and annoy people. I didn’t mind them around the dock because I could politely push through them. But there were times they would get too close to my skier... then we’d have a discussion.

My parents taught me solo boat launch techniques and boat launch etiquette when I was 13 since I used to launch my boat and waverunner with my quad.
Even so I had enough common sense, respect for others and situational awareness that I wouldn't have needed someone to teach me to get out of the way.

There are lakes in MO & KS that have just that. Hillsdale lake in KS has one of the best setups for PWC’s I have seen. Separate ramp, parking lot & the best is they have a nice sand beach right next to the ramp where you can setup & anchor on the beach or just off the bank. The entire area is in a no wake zone for at least a good 200 yards. I love going there if you ever get a chance I would check it out yourself.

Maybe you've never fished before to understand and don't have a clue? When I'm fishing a body of water, there is plenty of OTHER open water areas for you to fly around on. Why in the F would "you guys" choose to race around me? I'm obviously casting toward the bank, 30 feet from it and here comes a PWC...he or she just has to run that annoying sounding, piss coming out the ass machine between me and the bank! Would that you piss you off? Where's the etiquette there? If you were fishing for thousands of dollars and I come flying by between you and the bank, you can't tell me you wouldn't get freakin angry! I guess you have to be a fisherman to F'N understand it? I suppose it depends on every fishermen's past experiences with PWC'S? I'm sure you guys are nice guys, and I understand cruising around in a PWC is fun. I've done it, but I guarantee you that I'm not the only fisherman that shares my opinion....🤙👊

Backing up a trailer is easy once you have gotten it down. The problem is people come to boat ramps and they haven't master it yet. You should learn how to do it before you come to the busy boat ramp and even then invite your friend that is good at it, so that he or she can help you or if needed back it up for you (there is no shame in admitting someone is better at doing something than you, especially if it is true.). Now to be fair backing up an empty single jet ski trailer can really be a pain, those things sometimes seem to have a mind of their own.

One thing I will never understand is why people think they need such a long line for docking. 8-10 is plenty. I also don't think you need to use a bow line, or a stern line at all at the dock. One 8-10 line tied off to the mid cleat is all you need. Keep in mind, it's just a temporary line until you fetch the trailer.

learning how to back a trailer is important and needs to be learned. it was a pickup. not a car.

@@harleyhawk7959 I agree, it is a difficult art until you have got the knack of it, and whether a saloon, station wagon or ute, reversing without a boat on the trailer is difficult. But blocking a boat ramp at a busy time for 15 minutes whilst trying to get the trailer straight might not be the best time to practice.....

It should be mandatory that people who purchase anything that has to be towed behind your vehicle must take a class on hauling and backing up LOL

Good day and bachelorette party do not belong in the same sentence ... unless the sentence goes something like this: "I was having a good day and then this bachelorette party showed up!"

For future info, the woman was sliding down the ramp, not the dock. A dock is above water, ramp is under or before the water.

Most of the problems are the jet skis. Does Florida require any kind of mandatory water safety instruction, like rules of the road or courtesy?
