She didn't make them backup singers. If you listen, she's not trying to overpower them or be lead. She comes in and out, letting them lead for a bit before sliding in, then just as smoothly slides back out. She made an already great group sound even better.
They are being respectful like interviewers interviewing a master they let her take center stage and focus all their talents and emphasizing the beauty of what’s here

Anyone else notice how excited and happy Dolly was after the song finished? They have all the respect in the world for her, as everyone does, but she has just as much respect for them and they all looked absolutely thrilled like they had all crossed off a bucket list item. Old meets new using the same level of respect for each other and honestly it's so wholesome, I wish more artists could respect each other like this.
I was much more amazed at how strained and focused Dolly seemed to be during the performance.

Avi is always a dream, but especially when he seems genuinely happy. I'm sure he was honored to sing with Dolly.
Judging by Avi’s solo music these days, this song was probably much more to his personal liking than some of the other songs PTX have covered. Also, in my opinion, both Avi and Dolly are world class flirts and probably were sparking off each other. Age is no barrier to spirit!

I just think RUclips is really their claim to fame. They utilised it perfectly. Imagine if they kept their original record label and was restricted to their conditions, that could have meant *NO RUclips VIDS* or just whatever for the vevo. Them being free to do whatever on RUclips is a godsend to us all. A lot of other performers don't have that luxury.

Forgive me for not knowing the names of these talented young people; but, the young man far right has incredible focus to be able to keep that rhythm, and making the sounds, for over two minutes. I am sure Dolly was tickled to be a part of this ensemble. I am incredulous at the gifts of them all🌟
Kevin does beatboxing for hours during their live concerts in their world tours. He is an incredible singer, as well, and he can masterfully play the cello while beatboxing.
The guy you mentioned on the right is Kevin. The one with no hair in the video is Mitch. Scott is the tall guy in the middle next to dolly. Kirstin is the girl with the black lipstick in this video and then there’s Avi with long dark brown hair and beard. If you don’t know their names still hopefully that helped you :)

Depending on how old your Dad is, just tell him that PTX is kinda like a modern day barbershop quartet. Just tell him they are a group of 5 people who sing without music backup and they make amazing harmonies with one of them being the beat/drums. Something like that. And in this instance, they are being the "band" for Dolly and Miley while they sing. And then tell him they're not a cheesy act. Tell him some of their major accomplishments like they're a 2-time Grammy winner (in their first 4 yrs together, 2 yrs in a row. and now this nomination is the 3rd yr in a row). They've had numerous Platinum albums. They've hit the Billboard 200 chart at least twice now. Once with their 2015 Self Titled album release of almost all original music! It was the 1st a capella album to have EVER hit #1 on the Billboard 200. They've been in a couple of motion pictures, in minor ways, and on TV shows also. AND, they've gotten to work on a project with the incredibly legendary composer John Williams who's won so many awards I imagine he has to have an entire room for them! (they did that Star Wars piece on the AMAs with him) -- Make a list before you go to him so you're not fumbling with your memory. But yeah, if he knows they're a serious group, that's highly respected in the industry, and you explain what it is that they do and what they're doing for Dolly in this song (being the backtrack), I think he'll be cool with it. --- There's your LONG answer. *rofl*

That said, plastic surgery can only do just so much and if she's had "a lot" of it (and much of that is gossip), it does not erase all signs of age.
