@@timetochronicle I mean I’m not so surprised with Cici, not saying piano is easy to master but it is the simplest to understand how to play if you play any other instrument. Piano just has a low skill floor and high skill ceiling.
I think Sora, Luna, Cecilia and ERB knew how to play piano as of now

Seems like Lizzie wants to write her own music on top of singing it, huh? I suppose it's easier on costs to be able to write and produce your own music, but still, I think the effort involved in writing and producing is part of, if not all of, why having music made costs so much. Thinking about all that also got me further appreciating holo's singer-songwriters, but especially Rikka, as while he has others handle their arrangements, his seven solo original songs so far all have him as the sole songwriter. And come to think of it, Calli deciding to make a song with him is pretty gutsy also because of how she decided to do so not only early into her holo tenure but also while the Stars only had one original song released so far, with that one song being Rikka's Re:Hello world. Her Majesty certainly is standing on the shoulders of giants, so yeah, may she draw influence from them well! 🤩
Calli did say in a stream not that long ago that they make a greater percentage in royalties per song the more credits they have on it (probably why she has composing credits on two songs on her new album when she hasn't done any of that since the debut EP), so there's definitely incentive for them to write or produce their own material if they're able to. It's probably just a question of whether they feel they're able to come up with anything good enough, as obviously a bigger percentage ends up less on a less successful song.
What does she even mean by sappy? If sappy, compose a ballad around it, wait then she would just making a Xenoblade song, will the comparisons ever stop?
If she takes a wrong turn somewhere and makes Xenoblade X music, I won't be mad

Even for ballads there are different type of sappiness. Seeing her reluctancy hers probably the whiny type where its usually make people either cringe or upset. Can't really blame her, everyone can write lyrics, but only few can write something that other ppl would like, and they come with high price tag.

"Sappy" is slang for cheesy or touchy-feely things about feeling happy. Like cherishing your family before they die or simply thanking people for existing.
