Thanks for posting. I couldn’t see enough at the start to make any intelligent comments about barging (or not.) Same goes for what’ll yield better VMG but I DO notice what I assume is the king spoke (marked with the yellow tape) is several degrees to starboard on both tacks. It appears that you’ve probably got some SERIOUS lee helm on starboard tack and your underwater foils aren’t lifting. I’d suggest checking to make sure your wheel/rudder are centered and that your rig is true. Maybe play with rake a bit. Nice boat!
Yes, it is intentional. We are trying to point as close to the wind as possible. We are at about 24 degrees from the wind direction, it's a tight angle. to get up the racecourse.
Maybe it is a camera perspective thing but it seems the same on the second beat. Jib looks sheeted way farther in on starboard. Enjoying your videos, please keep producing them.
@@obsidian_sag_harbornice vid !! upwind may try sailing 5-10 degrees lower and at minimum a knot faster, less infucker more sheet on the jib. Watch your jib telltales iso the windinstruments.
@@obsidian_sag_harbor It is Very hard to win in the protest room from that position. Thank you for sharing this video. It's nice to see such a calm crew.
@@obsidian_sag_harbor Very hard to tell if there was an overlap. Even when you turned down to port, I didn't see the bow of a boat. I was wanting to pan with a 360 video. ha
I'd never allow that on my boat. also, the jib trimmer could use some coaching on ergonomics to improve her efficiency. on the first port tack, it looked like that jib never got beyond a coarse trim.
I miss sailing and racing so much! Thanks

Nice boat!
Why wasn't the jib trimmed when you tacked to port?
I'd be pumping those sales if I was on that crew😂
How come you’re main trimmer pulled in the sheet and never looked up at the sail
I couldn't see a problem with barging. Was there a boat to leeward out of camera shot? The start looked good
The leeward boat were the people doing all the yelling.
I would say I didn’t see the problem. I couldn’t see the leeward boat. Seeing that the j boat was reaching and then turned down….
why is the headsail clew so close to the center of the boat past the first tack? Is that intentional?
Yes, it is intentional. We are trying to point as close to the wind as possible. We are at about 24 degrees from the wind direction, it's a tight angle. to get up the racecourse.
At the same point in time, my question is why is the jib sheet not tightened to close hauled position as it was when on starboard?

start pointing when speed is well above 6
Were you the barging boat?
Yes but the boat to leeward gained an overlap and we were in a dispute, which we lost

Barging is not illegal.
Your jib lead always looks too far forward. Compare the foot depth to ruclips.net/video/BM-RgAvh6No/видео.htmlsi=raTWadHZEPnhQYzx&t=753
barefooted crew. Yikes. ;)

The girl jib-trimmer didn't use the winch handle at all. Great arm strength. So let's forgive her for bare feet...
