He sang every word while staring into my eyes. He walked me back to my table and whispered into my ear “There ain’t no getting over me.” Then he left and the next time I saw him was 16 years later just a few months before the cancer took him. I’ve had the thought every day of my life since that he was right…I’ve never gotten over him. 😢
