Best Rafferty song ever IMHO. Great tune, great lyrics, great production. Jim must have been gutted that it wasn't the big hit it deserved to be, maybe they should have added a big sax solo? ;-) Never heard it on British radio at the time, but fortunately for me it got airplay on Radio Luxembourg as it crept into the lower reaches of their Top 40 for 3 or 4 weeks which I always listened to, & I've loved it ever since. Was it a hit in Italy? They quite often seemed to pick up on good British records that weren't a hit here and I see there's a youtube clip of him performing/miming it on an Italian TV show.

I just made a comment on “Bitter Harvest” about the Rafferty Brothers harmonizing. Now I hear what I was thinking! Angels for sure!
