Love the video! Nice to see the transfer was giving issues. They are quite temperamental some times. That’s my luck, as we didn’t use the SLc transfer every day, as soon as I demonstrated it for someone it would have lots of trouble. But if no one is looking, it works fine.

I operated Vampire in 2003/2004. As most people know, coasters operate on a block system, just like railways. The station is split in to 2 blocks, split midway in station and then the lift hill. Back then we had to stop the train on the lift if someone wasn't wearing shoes (due to possibility of being evacuated at second lift hill). I stopped a train just starting up the lift and having just cleared the station A block. Hearing the brakes release in the brake run behind and a train coming around I can tell you that was the first moment in my life I've ever actually felt what people say "my heart was in my mouth". E-stop and call to control was in place before the train came round to a stop. When I say the second train stopped inches from the other I'm not joking. Although it worked as designed and nothing was amiss, no one had ever experienced that before. Two trains in the station inches apart my god, what a day!
In that period, we also had issues with the trains lining up correctly for the second lift hill, so we had to have a person sat at base of it to be able to radio and stop the ride if the guide wheels didn't align.
Fun fact, Vampire does have wheel covers, maintenance just didn't want them on as it was a PITA to take them off and put them back on every morning doing the checks. I can remember seeing them all in the maintenance area. Unlike B&M, Vekoma made it so much more awkward to put on.
I also had a young girl get covered in pigeon as the train ran over one just as it was exiting the station and going up the lift hill. Had no idea until the train arrived back in the station. Poor lass.
Damn this video has brought back so many memories, THANK YOU! My favourite though was we had a rider throughput challenge with Thorpe Park one day. I was one of 2 teams operating Vampire against Colossus. We'd run at 100% for 30 mins then the other team would take over. Was an amazing day.
I can also remember the time I came back after having been off for a couple weeks and operate it, only to feel a weird vibration in the control box. I informed control and engineering and they were like "pfft nothing wrong". I was insistent, they were insistent I was wrong. Imagine my surprise when it was then out of action for a few months due to a lift hill chain gear box failure.
Pressure washing all the stantions and Bubbleworks queue during the 03/04 off-season is still one of my best memories.

Actually a super underrated ride may not have inversions, may not be massive but its ideal for Chessington and riding it late night on a howl o ween when its dark and the trains have had all day to warm up it gets some decent speed going.

Charge up your phone/camera beforehand, there's quite a fair bit of stuff you'd want to take pictures of. I've done it twice and made videos both times, both of which are on my channel :)

Not sure if you're on about the tour or the ride but the Tour is roughly 1 Hour, but that depends on group size

I did the tour on Saturday just gone and much of what they told us was wrong - felt the whole thing was a very rushed and unsatisfying experience
