Spill the beans Jeff! You know everyone is dying to ask about the Strat but they are just being too polite! Tell us all about that beautiful guitar! Also thanks for the Freebee arpeggio book and videos - we know how much effort must have gone into making them. Always look forward to your videos. 😊
Jeff I have bought almost all of your courses from True fire or from your site & you are my go to for learning or expanding what I already know or have learned from you! Amazing teacher & awesome videos like this..Thank you! Love your tone as well🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻🔥
It's because of watching Keith from 5 Watt World I found True Fire then found your courses & since are my go-to teacher & thank both of you. Same love for music & you're just a really good teacher & spreading your knowledge with other musicians, I can't tell you how much you I really appreciate you & what you do. You will keep getting my support🤘i have friends that now follow you not knowing you was on RUclips & have gotten All Access or have bought your courses like myself. So Thank you for all you do & keep rocking 🤘🎸🤘
Thanks for saying the note names. Many teachers just say the fret numbers but knowing the intervals and note names is much more helpful for a deeper understanding of music and the fretboard. Thanks Jeff
You are welcome! It’s funny I have a much more difficult time saying fret numbers than I do note names. Especially above the 12th fret, it’s funny. They are super important!
The "up picking" you're doing here definitely reminds me of the way Eric Johnson picks when he does that. It's such a cool looking and sounding picking technique!
Hey Jeff, This is a great lesson thank you !! Could you do a video on playing over straight major chords. I find myself in more simple pop settings with singers having to play over straight major chords, major pentatonic and triads sound great but i quickly run out of ideas as there isnt a lot of harmonic movement to keep things developing .. Would love your insight on this topic.
Very cool lesson Jeff, you explained it so clearly and made it easy to follow for someone at my level. This kind of reminds me of my early days watching some of your truefire stuff 👍🏻
Don't mean to split hairs with you bud, not that either of us has much hair to spare, I'm just trying to grasp the terminology of all of these chord names. You have been so helpful through the years, particularly through the lock-down. I own over a dozen of your courses. I guess an A11 lacks specificity. My understanding is that an A11 is an A dominant 11th. (aka A7(11)/C) Otherwise we'd call it an A major 11th/C.. Wouldn't the b9 be a Bb? You mean #9 then? The 13 makes me dizzy.. @@JeffMcErlain
Up too early! SO I mistyped... It can be a little murky. A11 to me has a maj7 and A7 with an 11 would be be A dom11 or A7sus4. I could be wrong but it all get kinda knitpicky and that's why it doesn't have a name.
I appreciate all the things you've posted over the last few years that have made me a better guitarist! There's something here for everyone.
Thanks for being here Robert!
It’s helped me a lot too. And I’ve only cracked the surface.

You are most welcome!
Another great lesson Jeff. When I listen to your demonstration, I hear sax or clarinet lines, very melodic! Thanks!

Great content as always, however I kept getting distracted by that Jimi figurine in the back. I want that!

Thank you for the continuing education Jeff, you are outstanding.. As for the scale name, could we call it an A11 add C scale....?

Great lesson and awesome Strat! If you could, what gauge of strings and tuning are you using here?
Thanks! 10s and just standard tuning.
@@JeffMcErlain Awesome, thanks for that info!
Inspiring
Thanks!!
Hi Jeff. I tried to sign up for the free arpeggio course and keep getting sent in loops name/password, email/password, wrong email…
Shoot me an email here and I’ll see if I can help! www.jeffmcerlain.com/contact
I'm not sure how I have missed this before, but is that Rick James over your left shoulder?!? Really important question, ha!
Yes.
If that scale doesn’t have a name, I say we put your name on it Jeff!
Hear hear!
