You can’t blame highschool bands on how sloppy or clean they are on the kids. That falls on the director & coordinators. Some of the arrangements & movements need to be cleaned up. Don’t let folks scream & crank on instruments if it doesn’t do the song justice. Get them prepared to be on a collegiate level!
I remember back in "96" or "97" at the Mid- South Coliseum in Memphis, TN. Greenville came. They were big& loud......I thought they was a college band at first. There was another school Liberty from Louisiana, and Carrol High. All of them impressed me. They sounded like college bands. That was a great battle of the band back then. Miss those days.
@@sylentknight Yes. Westwood used to sponsor those battle of the bands back in those days. Westwood band was the fire back then. When Mr. Richardson use to be the band director at that time. Which he is a JSU graduate/ Alumni.
danger1178 My fave was “99” and “00” when Greenville High went to Memphis TN. Mr. Ray Brooks was the director and a darn good one too. I was proud to be a part that era!😊🖤💛 class of 2000. #Luvdaband
The 90s was way better that’s when t.L and Greenville had their own bands when they combined the schools it haven’t been the same. Greenville use to be popping. T.L and Greenville use battle it’s lame now
Greenwood drum-line ate in that battle 💯 👏🏾. Greenville’s majorette captain has that “it” factor to be a collegiate majorette. She stands out. Overall though, I’m sorry, but Gentry did the 🐏 thang‼️ 🤷🏾♀️🤙🏾
The red band got all those tubas and can’t hear one of them 🤣I’m from white haven and our band director is the band director from Mississippi All star Alumni Band!We ain’t coming to play with no bands this year.

I'm finna hurt y'all li pride...one of the judges is my freaking uncle...that lady is my aunt in law...they told me face to face the very next day that we (Greenville) shouldn't even been in that lil ass competition and that we clearly outclassed everyone...so they gave y'all the wins to make y'all feel good
