    I liked answer c. With meeting the client where she is at. During the engagement process we are having conversations and building rapport. Providing resources seems to me be more in the planning phase. I get why A would be correct. I am just rationalizing with the questions and the problem solving process. I have taken the exam numerous times and trying to get a handle on the questions/rational. They are more complex on the exam and some have very little details. Thank you, your videos are helping.!

      Something that has helped me (because I stayed getting questions like this wrong) is that when a question says "assist" like specifically asking how the social work can assist, then it is guiding us to be beyond the engagement and assessment phase and so we need to be looking for answer choices with interventions

    So answer choice C is not the answer because there is no signs or symptoms shared.

    On question number four, about the client identifying as a lesbian, I really thought C. Encourage the client to discuss why she believes that she’s a lesbian, was the best dancer because it seems that you acknowledging the client and gathering more information before going further with treatment. Thank you for your guidance.

      Yes I agree. I was really lost with that one. Because.I thought we should engage in discussion first, then provide resources as needed

    I was stuck on question 3. I initially chose D, but over thought the entire question and was between A and B. Smh. Thanks for going over that and making it more understandable.

    Greetings All! The question that I continue to ponder on is the last one regarding the mother and baby . I guess I would think the answer is C. The mother is having trouble bonding with the baby and she gave birth six months ago ( that’s the time frame unique to postpartum). Any thoughts @ Savvy Social Worker ?

      This is why I also chose postpartum depression.

      @@traveltheworld8374 yes that one has me puzzled !

    • @annashull9620
      @annashull9620 2 года назад +3

      I also picked C. I think another reason for me is that postpartum depression would be an explanation whereas "a lack of closeness" is a symptom/presenting problem. Also, the conflict between what she consciously wants (to nurture and care for) and her actual feelings (not feeling attached) can be characteristic of depression.

    "There are no signs or symptoms of postpartum depression" ... but... there was? Lack of closeness/not feeling attached to the child is a sign of PPD?

    I understand the breakdown of the first question, but it seems like the second part of the correct answer would be done later in therapy or further in the helping process, not the first time you meet them.

      Actually, when you acknowledge the client's feelings, that is a great time to explore them, especially when the feelings are the client's "priority" issue. If you are trying to do the first and most important thing to help the client in this moment, making her feelings the priority is it.

    I thought it would be correct to talk to the client about her thoughts about being a lesbian. A teen girl Kissing another girl and liking it, doesn't mean that she a lesbian,

    • @savvysocialworkerexamprep160
      @savvysocialworkerexamprep160  2 года назад +2

      None of the answers choice asks the SW to "talk to the client about her thoughts about being a lesbian." Option C questions her about "why she believes that she is a lesbian." It is not our place to question her personal beliefs as "she has already begun to identify as a lesbian."
