Loved the Treewalk and thrilled to see this footage. But my favourite was always The Grotto - sadly can't seem to find photos or film of that anywhere.
I lived in Thessaly road Battersae in the 50s and spent my weekends in Battersea Park. Great memories. Also played football on the cinder pitches when a pupil at Sacred Heart School ( Trott St Battersea )
Loved this place. Remember going with my father and brother late 50s up to mid 60s. one of the most disappointing moments of my life when I went one day years later and found the place closed. Such a big disappointment. :( Never been the same again really has Battersea Park, has it? :(
Eddie Olding , Battersea bomb site baby , great times i spent in the park and at the fun fair , my sisters fella worked on the big dipper , result , miss Battersea so much . My bro lives in tower block over looking the park .
