This video inspired my start up draft. After year 1. I got the 1.01, love my team. Picked injured players (Brooks😢, Hock) Ignored RB (found Bucky) and went all young WR (Marv/Nabers/Nico). Ready to subjugate the league moving forward. Prioritize future quality over short term. They don't have the vision to see what I'm doing
Hey Scott. Great insight/strategies here. We definitely have a mind meld as this is exactly what I do. I'm about to join another high stakes league with standard SF settings with start 11 and TE premium. I'm thinking about trying something that I've never done before and would appreciate your input. I'm planning on strictly drafting only future rookie picks until much later in the draft and trading down as much as possible (given that's where the value is). This will guarantee 2025 rookie 1.01 and I'll be able to roster so many waiver wire players and turn through them throughout the year. I'm a very active trader and my thought process is to strictly accumulate value and then go shopping year two (maybe year 3). What do you think?
From Scott: It’s important not to over-do it. By Round 15 my roster ideally looks like this by Round 12: more future R1 picks than anyone else, worst RB room in the league, youngest roster in the league, but also still a top-3 or top-5 roster at all other positions (minus potentially QB2)
Do you attempt to trade down to gain more picks? If so do you focus on just getting the rookies and maybe unproven guys that are a year or two in their career?
Exactly! More picks in the middle rounds or more rookie picks next season. For example: Startup 1.05 for Startup 1.12 and a future 1st Or Startup 1.05 for Startup 1.12 and Startup 3.12
Kind of like Scott laid out, number one would be check your league settings and see what you can exploit. For example, if it’s superflex, consider punting the QB position. Stock up on good young talent throughout at other positions and attempt to acquire rookie picks in season.
Someone is offering me 2027 1st round pick for Bryce Young straight up. What do yall think? 12 man superflex, not TEP. This is literally our first year. My QBs are Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, Bryce Young, Aidan O'Connell, Spencer Rattler, and Sam Howell. The guy seems pretty intense on aquiring Bryce, and he is thin at QB. I just kind of feel like it might be foolish to move a potential star QB for a future 1st round pick in 2027 with no guarantee if it will be a high or low pick in the 1st round. What does everyone think about this?
I would fight for more if he’s very adamant about acquiring him. Dave Canales is the perfect coach to revive Young’s value, I wouldn’t sell him unless you’re getting something you can’t turn down.
@FantasyPoints I appreciate your feedback and investment of time. I feel the same way but wanted someone else opinion that has much more experience than me with this stuff. It's going to be very hard for Bryce to do worse than he did last year. Big coach upgrade, big upgrade at WR with Dionte Johnson joining, Legette and Sanders getting drafted, Thielen staying, and even a slight upgrade at o-line adding Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis. I think you're dead on with your assessment. If I wait it out and let him have a couple 4 TD pass game with 300+ yards passing, his stock raises tenfold. He is also an underrated scrambler, and rushing TDs are 6 points as opposed to 4 points in my league. Thanks again for your input. I am going to reject this guys trade and subscribe to your channel lol 🙌🏼😂
@@FantasyPointswhat about if I drafted Patrick mahomes he’s basically the Tom Brady you used the scenario and would be basically a legend on my team but still followed the tank strat
I think the value is perfect, but it isn't something it seems you have to do if you do not love what's coming back. But on my team,s I would do this - Tom
Exactly what I’ve been wanting, thanks Scott!
Thank YOU! 🔥
Thanks for pointing out value of WR laying it out makes sense

Tanked year 1. And now my team looks ridiculous good with depth
We love to hear it! Thanks for watching!

Is this good or bad for ARSB?

But if I have the number 1 pick this year do I get Marvin and still try to tank
Yes or trade it for a huge haul!

@@FantasyPoints thank you for the quick reply man my draft is on Sunday
All my dynasty leagues do bottom 3 lottery to prevent tanking to prevent changing outcome for the players still in it. So punting won't work

This video felt like one of those get Rich now videos and they keep talking about something they did but they never actually get to the point
