Just Shoot Me IS one of the greatest sitcoms of all time... The writing and the cast were perfect. You each brought something different and something special to the show. RIP George... ❤
I was and still am a HUGE Just Shoot Me fan!! You and George has such awesome HILARIOUS chemistry on screen! This breaks my heart 😔 that whole cast absolutely rocked just to let you know!
He is definitely a LEGEND!!! I love 'Just Shoot Me' sooo much! The snarky verbal attacks the characters always did to each other felt so real and the chemistry of all those amazing stars was phenomenal!!! He will be missed for a while and loved and remembered forever!!!
George was awesome, David. Glad you did this tribute. Just Shoot Me! was my favorite show of all time. You all did a fantastic job. It was hilarious. You were phenomenal and George was the quintessential "dad" archetype.
@Skuzzbrush Bulkhead Comedic timing is the time a comedian takes between the set up and the punch line to allow the audience to concieve an image or thought in their minds that makes the joke funny. It can also mean the pause between a joke and the reaction or response. I see this in other languages too without understanding what they are saying by watching the pauses between the joke and the reaction. Explaining comedy is like explaining music, but maybe this helped.
I have loved that man since the 70's and would watch anything he was in. My condolences to his family, friends and all, and thank you so much George for all you gave us. My sympathies to you too David, I know how much you love and respect your friends.
Thanks for posting this. I hadn't heard that he had passed. Prayers out to all his family, friends and his many, many fans. I was a huge fan of your show "Just Shoot Me" and I never missed it. The sparing that took place between you, George and Enrico Colantoni who played Elliot DiMauro, was absolutely the best. I've never laughed so hard as I did when your show was on. I loved it. Again, thanks for posting this.
"Laughed Hard as Shit ever single Episode". wow, you're a real cutey aren't ya. Speak at his eulogy i guess' The 'hard shits' you had for him. Real good.
JSM was a great show, great cast. Still one of my absolute favorites. Segal & Spade a great duo! Great actor! R.I.P. George Segal. See you in paradise!
For a man who has spent his career in Hollywood, you come across as such a humble, kind sou, unlike the stereotypical Hollywood actor. So rare, and so appreciated.
Very nice tribute, David. I remember first seeing George in "Fun With Dick And Jane" and "Carbon Copy," and remembering what a huge presence he had on the screen. It's nice that he had such and impact on your life and career. RIP.
Agree. That's a really good one, with Ben Gazarra. Also, he did impressive dramatic work in Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf and The Terminal Man, to name a couple off the cuff. Fine actor. He will be missed.
Yrs I loved George. His smile lifted you up. The first time I saw Denzel was a movie with George was his father. Loved the movie. But every movie he was in e as great. I will miss him.
That was awesome. I think when I was younger I made the mistake of confusing David Spade for his characters, but he seems to be a pretty neat guy. This was a wonderful homage to a man that I had never heard of or considered, and it was done in a way that took as much focus as possible off of Spade, and on to the guy himself.
I loved George S. He was at his best on the talk shows playing his banjo. He could play anything. Never saw a bad performance. Movies, TV,stage. Miss you much George.
2 things, David: 1) I love so much & how quickly, humbly, selflessly, you give credit to other comics & actors & artists whom you respect. I know you play the a-hole but you actually seem like a really genuinely appreciative, humble guy who values other people's talent, not just your own. And 2) why the hell is that plant behind you to our left so damn aggressive. I feel like if it could talk it would be spitting swear-words right & left.
Yup, Mr. Spade has always seemed pretty "real" by Hollyweird standards. Sweet guy. But I love that plant! It's gorgeous. I want my hair to look like that. 😉
I was totally looking at the plant trying to figure out if there was soil or a pot in a pot. That plant needs to be on social media if anything does. Sorry George and David.
I watched your Hulu zoom reunion for Just Shoot Me and laughed so much! You could really feel the love between all of you and it's inspired me to rewatch the series, because you're right - it was a great show that sorta got lost in the sea of great comedies NBC churned out around that time.
He was great in everything I watched from him. Loved just shoot me and news radio, two of my fav w you and Hartman and crew. Miss them all He seemed like a great friend and someone that was unfazed by Hollywood. Great funnies.
Thanks for this. Loved the series and him with you my favorite scenes. And been a fan since "Nick" in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" to "The Goldbergs." But...still laugh out loud sometimes just thinking about you, George Segal with Brian Dennehy in "Just Shoot Me."
You as Dennis Finch and George as Jack Gallo were an amazing team on just shoot me always made my day. George will be missed and this was a great tribute to him.
Glad you did this David, i think of George Segal every now and then, amazed and thankful he was still alive. Always sad to hear news like this...god bless at least he was old and full of life and laughter til the end *
David, I have always had the highest regard for your work, and you are so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with George Segal, he was and will always be a Legend
I came here today after beginning probably my 15th binge run of Just Shoot Me!, looking for the reunion the cast guys did not long ago, and found this...and I'm in tears all over again. Such a wonderful collection of memories, David. I still remember watching the show when it first aired all those years ago, and it still never fails to make me laugh and cheer and feel the heartbreaks of all the characters. One of my favorite pieces by George being his "speech" about how penguins used to fly, and it both makes me laugh and cry. I will miss him so, but I will forever be grateful for all the wonderful creations he gave us. Thank you for sharing a little piece of your thoughts on him. You are indeed correct when you say he is missed the world over. I was a teenager in Australia when JSE! was on, and much to my mum's groans of protest at the time, she grew to love it almost as much as I. We both will miss him dearly.
Absolutely. That was the first I saw of David Cross, but since then I've seen and enjoyed his comedy a bunch. My other favorite episode was "Lemon, wacky, hello". That was a funny as hell series. And George Segal was a big part of that. R.I.P. G.S. Peace.
Thanks David. Just Shoot Me, is still one of my favorite shows because of You and George. George was one of my favorite actors from the 60s on. Thanks George.
That was really nice David, thank you for sharing your memories of George. I was a big fan of his work. I watched 'CARBON COPY' the other week, with Denzel Washington. What a hoot. Ahhhh, a great career, a talented man, and from your account of him, a pretty nice guy too. Thanks again David. Your a good man too. x
Awe damn, that’s a shame. He was great in so many things over the decades. And Just Shoot Me was one of my faves in a jam packed era of great TV shows as you stated. RIP.
I loved "Just Shoot Me" and watched every week. That was my first time seeing George and I enjoyed it so much. Condolences to all of his friends and family.
Just Shoot Me is one of my favorite shows. I watch it over and over on Hulu. The Walk and Future Issues still tears me up. George was awesome in everything he was in. ❤️👍👍
Just found your show- I’m not much of a tv watcher, but this is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen. The writing is top tier. RIP George. I know him from Virginia Wolf.♥️
We just could tell what a gracious, socially conscious, compassionate, obviously talented (in how many different categories?!?), full of life, fun-loving, intelligent, just good, decent and loving person he was... just imagine if we KNEW him? Like you knew him, DS?! Thank you for sharing more about him with us. So terribly sorry for your loss. For some reason, I feel it extra deeply (though I can't say exactly why). I may have wished he was my pop, too.
George Segal He truly was a great actor. As a young boy, I was a fan of WWII movies, and he starred in some of my favorites, The Longest Day, and Bridge at Remagen. I seen him a lot in made for TV movies, and sitcoms. It's hard when actors you recognize and are a fan of die. In many aspects it becomes an end of an era every time it happens.
RIP, George Segal. I always had a warm feeling about George, knowing he grew up in my home town, Great Neck, albeit 20 years before me. He had that sensibility, that 'hamishe' background. Loved the entire JSM show - saw every episode. Loved having Segal and Spade on the same show. My personal favorite of George was Where's Poppa? - that just is black comedy to the max. So of its time. I also loved his appearances on Carson's Tonight Show - his appearances were always fun, plus he played music. I hope his personal life was as fun as his roles appeared to be, but you never know.
Loved seeing him growing up as a kid, was excited when I discovered him in The Goldbergs, class act, great actor. Will be sorely missed, thank you for all the laughs and smiles you gave and will continue to 💕
Just Shoot Me IS one of the greatest sitcoms of all time... The writing and the cast were perfect. You each brought something different and something special to the show.

George Segal was next level. Nice tribute Dave. "Just shoot me" was such a funny show.
Agreed has to be my favorite sitcom of this year 2022 😂🥰

You two, plus the entire cast of Just Shoot Me made me laugh and cry. George will be missed. 😢
It sounds like David is a quality friend. That's one damn fine characteristic.
George was awesome, David. Glad you did this tribute. Just Shoot Me! was my favorite show of all time. You all did a fantastic job. It was hilarious. You were phenomenal and George was the quintessential "dad" archetype.
The last episode of JSM where George is leaving and gives everyone parting advice always made me tear up. Now more than ever.
Couldn't imagine anyone else playing the boss. He had great comedic timing. RIP
Great tribute

Very nice tribute; some of us do remember when George Segal was the biggest male star in Hollywood.
I truly enjoyed George. Your entire cast on Just Shoot Me was a great fit. Thanks
Hi.. Kathleen
I have loved that man since the 70's and would watch anything he was in. My condolences to his family, friends and all, and thank you so much George for all you gave us. My sympathies to you too David, I know how much you love and respect your friends.
Saw him in a lot movies growing up in the seventies, always liked him. Seems like he was in a ton of movies back then.
What a shame. Always liked him. (The Quiller Memorandum 1965 and King Rat 1966 are both great forgotten gems and he was brilliant in both.)
I do AGREE! And both films have excellent scores by John Barry!
@@orangewetsuit Thanks for reminding me! I had completely forgotten that.
Well said. My condolences, man.
Thank you..loved him since a touch of class !

Very nice words for a legend thank you for sharing, I had not heard untill now ,will be missed for sure.
George Segal was quintessence of avuncular. The man had buckets of personal charm.
I'm sure George would have appreciated that comment and then sent you off to go get him some cigars.
Just Shoot Me was a mf’ing masterpiece. Laughed hard as shit every single episode without fail.
& Newsradio! Both were so good!
"I just remembered something. You're boring and my legs work."
"Laughed Hard as Shit ever single Episode". wow, you're a real cutey aren't ya. Speak at his eulogy i guess' The 'hard shits' you had for him. Real good.
Those who starred with David Cross should be wary now that Mrs. Bluth passed away today.
Remember King Lear Jet? Brilliant!
Loved him on Just Shoot Me!
Was very sorry to hear this. Always one of my favorite actors. Just Shoot Me is still one of my favorite shows. Everyone was so great in it.

Loved him. He was very good in dramatic roles, like Bridge at Remaggen. He had it all. Voice. Looks. Talent. RIP Mr Segal

Thank you for your thoughtful tribute for George Segal. His kindness shined through, he will be missed. 😔
He was always great, always funny. I remember him on Carson playing banjo. RIP
I loved his Carson appearances. It seems he would always pull out the banjo.lol.
he played the Dobro in carbon copy with Denzel Washington. after he got done busting his ass waiting in line with all the Mexicans for work that day
Loved. "Just shoot me, funny as hell, everyone was great, but must admit I really loved George Segal...rip George.🙏💗💗
Hello there👋👋,how are you doing today?hope you’re having a good day?GOD BLESS YOU!!!
the world will miss you george s. for your banjo playing too... thank you with gratitude for all the laughs you gave us over our lifetimes !!! rip
My folks, who were not in showbiz, were pals with him and his extended family. He was like the fun uncle when we were kids.
Thanks for a really nice tribute to a great guy and actor, and a great friend to you.
That was awesome. I think when I was younger I made the mistake of confusing David Spade for his characters, but he seems to be a pretty neat guy. I was totally looking at the plant trying to figure out if there was soil or a pot in a pot. That plant needs to be on social media if anything does.
Sorry George and David.
The plant is aggressive so David doesn't have to be. Certain other people have a pit bull or some huge vicious dog instead.
It's responsible for the words on the blackboard each time.
I watched your Hulu zoom reunion for Just Shoot Me and laughed so much! You could really feel the love between all of you and it's inspired me to rewatch the series, because you're right - it was a great show that sorta got lost in the sea of great comedies NBC churned out around that time.

Thank you for that, David, it was very touching.
I think that's the mark of a great man. When you think of memories of him and all you can do is smile and laugh. Rip George Segal
I couldn’t bring myself to watch this until now. You’re a class act, D. Spade. Rest in paradise, George.
He was great in everything I watched from him. Loved just shoot me and news radio, two of my fav w you and Hartman and crew. Miss them all He seemed like a great friend and someone that was unfazed by Hollywood. Great funnies.
Been binge-watching JSM for the last few weeks. Was always one of my favorite shows. Stellar, cast, stellar script and jokes
Just looked him up, wow what a career. All of you guys had great chemistry on that show.

Yeah both your character David Dennis Finch and Wendie Malick's Nina Van Horn are my two favorite character's of the show respectively LMFAO 😂🥰
Given David Spade's brand of comedy It's easy to see that kind of relationship. Spade is one of many underappreciated comedians.
