⋆Today with the help of an application called Reshade, we can experience what the new star stable might have felt like if Star Stable had kept a hint of the old graphic style - most noticeably the bloom and the slightly different shades of green! I personally had a lot of fun with this chill, more rambley video just exploring a new Reshade pack. Make sure to support Nova below! I love the blast from the past this feels for me - with the certain nostalgic vibe to it. Although we can never have Star Stable back, and there is nothing I can ever do to be that age playing Star Stable for the first time again, this video was pretty sweet :) ⋆

Its far better on my eyes! The new graphics bother me so much bc they're far too bright and saturated and some textures like the new stones give me visually the ick. Its just so weirdly smooth and bright it bothers my sensory issues :')
I really miss golden hills valley. The new version is nice but it isn’t as good as the old one in my opinion. I worked so hard to get into it and then they updated it shortly after I finally got in 😭
This reshade literally looks like a flashback and it's just reminding me of how much I miss Post Effect aka Bloom 🥲
IT LOOKS SO GOOD. so much better, ALSO THE COLOURS!! (he current cold green in the grass and trees looks so bad..I miss the warm shade of green)
I wish we could have the option to have separate version of sso with old graphics and models all purely for nostalgia

@@JustAnotherPixel There is a game called Wizard101 that has kept the old textures (not models for NPCs and characters) for OG players who don't like the new graphics that, like SSO, are really cartoonish and gauche. You just tick an option in the menu and the textures reload. I don't know what about SSO makes doing the same thing impossible.
exactly! it could be client side only so it doesn't interfere with other players games, doubt they'd ever do it though 😭
I'm sure they changed it so you could see more detail on the horses and stuff, but man does this bring lots of nostalgia. I didn't even think about how much it had changed till you put the filter on.

I love this preset!! ❤ it reminds me of me playing sso when I was younger. All you can see were Gen 1 models and old graphics everywhere .... I miss the old days and, they are held by a special gate in my heart 🖤 ~Long live the old Starstable 🕊🖤

Already had reshade for my sims 4, so all i had to do was follow the steps until i got to install or modify, so i modified it to run with star stable and slipped the old star stable pre-set in there . Now my star stable looks so pretty. Thanks.

I think im the only one who prefers the new one completely cuz i need to seee😟 old graphics always made me think i wasnt seeing right
That was actually very nice to watch. I thought about something that maybe has passed somebody by; the fact that the old Tinkers or North Swedish horses might have looked so different with that shade SSO had before. (I mean the older generations of horses that are for sale in the horse market). Maybe that’s why they look so crusty now.
I think the original look has a little bit less contrast, but besides that it's pretty spot on!

I was wondering if anyone could help me. When I open sso after first downloading reshade the black screen and bars at the top don't show up.
If they would make it like that. I would be fine with the new graphic.
I edited my own preset to make it even closer. It’s not quite finished yet, but I’m getting closer! (I can’t exactly change the textures or models sadly, at least without a cheat engine, but I’m not risking getting banned on my main)

@@JustAnotherPixel yeah my presets are glitching a lot, so I’m trying to troubleshoot them. (Fog, depth, canvas, masking, etc, are not working correctly, and I’m not sure why)
When you rode around with it for a while I didn't even see the differences that much cause well, it used to be what a lot of us here were accustomed to, but the second you switched between them I was like "oh damn". Still gives me a headache tho (':
I wish I could use reshade, but alas, I play on a Mac and you cannot download reshade for Mac. Some of the presets out there are so pretty though.
Also I think the "doubles" in the presets were intentional (not your reshade being messed up) because if you compare the photos of old sso to the presets with the doubles they look closer than when you turned them off. It is a little bright, but I'm pretty sure its supposed to be like that. Also the fact that when you merged them the "double" brightness stayed. That's just part of the preset.

Hello, I have a problem with the screen resolution in the css .. I made the resolution more than necessary and now when I enter the game they write that the resolution is not supported, what should I do?
you might be able to uninstall and reinstall or on the SSO launcher if you click the gear icon next to play there is an option to fix game files which might work

As yes, I love loosing my vision to bleary graphics.
you can adjust the settings :) after this video I have continued slightly adjusting things! you can turn down the bloom intensity etc. I am not saying I want star stable to be like this but I love the nostalgia it makes me feel :)

When I downloaded the pack it said the file would be harmful to my computer?
chrome does that for .ini files i believe because it can't scan them. Always be careful where you download the files, but for Nova they are trustworthy :D I just click keep 🥰

Sometimes I wonder if you recognise my username between IG, Disocrd and RUclips ahahah. My brain sometimes just sees a name or sum and triggers a random memory, I could ride around Jorvik and out of nowhere I have a random flashback of me playing the game years ago and standing on that exact spot.

I wanted to get the experience of 'new' star stable if it had the older style of bloom and green colouring! Riding around on Gen 1/2 horses with it though are also very nostalgic :)
