I love him as an architect and the way he understands architecture and explain it in such interesting way

A brilliant conversation. And how unusual and gratifying to have an interview that ignores the clock, and simply follows the drift. Piers Taylor is free of the ruts that most architects are stuck in.

Love the interpretation of Architecture via Piers view. I'm in South Africa, I can't imagine when we will have a deconstructive mindset while we are still taking in that other nation are disposing.

These podcasts are amazing, the questions are very open-ended and broad, makes up the room for personal perspectives on the subjects at hand. Also, it is a HUGE delight to listen to architectural topics that are outside technical and conventional boundaries, which we encounter almost on a daily basis. The questions that really encompasses sociological, political and anthropological aspects have made me think about them a lot as well. Thank you for these!

fantastic podcast, im actually about to write an article about why developing local 'vernaculars' is crucial environmentally, culturally & aesthetically, rather than using the cheats of imported materials. so its great to see other minds also acknowledging the importance of such persuits!

Love the passion in this. I’m an industrial designer by trade and product designer in technology career wise. I’m looking to build a secondary surf home designed with input by the community and this talk is inspiring me before diving into the world of architecture

I wanted to add in terms of bringing architecture to the mainstream. I find it fascinating how design in technology has proven its value by being data driven. I now make a 6 figure salary straight out of school. What is it about the economics of building design and traditional design in general that lends itself to the model of a low ceiling in compensation and could traditional design employ approaches towards design in technology that have made design in technology “mainstream”?

love this! pandemic in mind, do you think that the perspective of urbanization is changing long term, or are we going to quickly return to our cities? for me, i’ve always been that completely introverted semi-rural dreamer, i live in the suburbs (i’m 17) but i hope that at one point i’ll live somewhere like vermont where you can barely see your neighbors. do you think that rural living will become increasingly intensive as we urbanize in the future, or will the pandemic haunt this expansion, even if only temporarily? personally i think we’re entering a period where pandemics will not be once or twice a century thing in places like the u.s. where i live, so i’m wondering if there are ways for us to use architecture to solve new issues around diseases?

Totally agree with Pier. We have the same problems in the states the political environment has destroyed what we have been working towards the last 50 years. They talk affordable housing but don’t follow through.
