That same thing happened to my son. We were fishing for crappie and a 6lbs bass took his lure. He was so happy and mad at the same time, it was way too cute and relatable. One of my favorite memories with him
I caught my biggest crappie ever from a retention pond in my neighborhood - was the first fish of 2022 for me! I've tried since then to catch another monster, and have only caught one other medium-sized crappie from that pond (13 inches). I still think she's in there somewhere. She was 16 inches, pregnant and pushing 2 lbs, caught on a squarebill crank with a dressed treble in the back.
@@andrewboyce7268 Don't tell me that! lol. And yes, even if I hadn't caught her from a dirty retention pond, I would have released that beautiful fat pregnant slab to make babies :) Crappies are evidently rare in my pond but they get giant. There's ample forage as it's a shad pond - loaded with with baitfish
Congratulations on the new lures, as a pond and bank fishermen, I've been waiting for u to come out with something and can't wait to get my hands on them!

I got some quick pics and let her go. I didn't get to weigh her, but I'd say she was pushing 4 or 5 lbs. I haven't got to go fishing this year yet, but rite now is the time to catch the big Mama's. Catching bass like that on light tackle is a blast! I’ve been doing it on BFS the last year. Also being able to catch those studs on a bait you helped designed has to feel sooooo good. Maybe you can help 6th sense get some more finesse products out there, like a little underspin with a 1/0 hook that would fit their 2.7” divines 👀
How awesome to have such a great pond filled with huge fish! It sure likes a great, safe place to take your children and getting them hooked on fishing! If that pond can’t do it, nothing will! It looks like your design hit it out of the ballpark!

Good deal man! We should get together on a walleye minnow bait! Lol seriously though. Very similar to your crappie swim minnow here. I had a ton of luck using these two different pre YUM baits curly tailed minnows that are now unfortunately discontinued. Originally made by Riverside lures which the designs became a yum baits. One was the riverside seaside minnow which name changed to the croaker tail minnow. It was a great soft minnow bait. It had a slim profile minnow body with a small twister tail (3.5" long bait). Black shad was the best color imo. The other minnow bait had a thick minnow body but with a large twister tail. Yum called it the Samurai tail minnow or curly tail. Best color was this strawberry red body with silver fleck and a milky white large curly tail. Both minnow baits were casted on a 1/4oz - 3/8oz jig head (all styles). We had double digit number walleye days with these minnows baits. Unfortunately all are now discontinued and extremely hard to find. If it aint broke don't fix it is my motto lol. But yeah i could see these minnow patterns remade in multiple colors, sizes and even poured in many different plastic materials maybe even the 10X stretch material. I personally think baits like what you made here for crappies aswell as these old yum minnow baits i mentioned would sell like hot cakes!. Lastly yum did also make one of these minnows in a paddle tail version (also discontinued) which worked great too. They were called the yum mud minnow. But the samurail tail and croker tail versions were better! Why do they ditch these baits?.. And don't get me started with the manns hardnose frogs Lol... You def chose wisely with this crappie minnow!! I will for sure buy a few packs of these! Thanks for all you do!! Fish on!!
