    I am a student of Shorin Ryo from 1967 in Los Angeles. I really appreciate white sensei shared about the liquor helping with communication, respected properly it's an advocate for sincerity.

    I was fortunate to study under Shimabukuro Zempo Sensei and his father when I was stationed on Okinawa circa 1967. I still remember how strong he was as a young man, and it is clear that his power is ageless.

    Please turn on English subtitles.
    I am learning this Kata now. It’s very interesting to see it in its homeland.
    Thank you very much 🙏

    I studied Shorin-ryu many years ago when I was young. I loved it very much. Its always been a regret of min that I did not stick with it as it helped me so much both mentally and physically. It is amazing, I have not seen it in 25 years but I can believe how much came back to me just watching this video, it is exactly as I remembered. I almost feel that I could remember some of the kata's. thank you

    I am studying Shorin-ryu with the Okinawan Karate Club here in Dallas. This is the system we are taught and is ALL based on Mr. Shimabakuro. Ms. Eilene Smoger who is the main instructor was awarded her 7th dan by Mr. Shimabakuro himself.

      That's a different Shimabukuro (Eizo) and a different style of Shorin-ryu.

    • @tm114paul
      @tm114paul 3 года назад

      @@RichardCarlsson I think so, Kyodokan Shorinryu keep all tradition from Chibana Choshin (Shuri-Te). While Seibukan Shorinryu emphasize Tomari-te mostly but still co-operate with Shuri-te in some KATAs that make Seibukan unique and different style as Shorinryu.

      @@dakentaijutsu2010 but it IS interesting to hear about the different associations. I'm in one that doesn't have a whole lot of dojos in North America, but our top people go to Okinawa regularly to bring back what they've learned, and the masters from Okinawa come to North America as well.
