- Good friends Hunter @huntah.johnson , Arielle Hernquist @Ariellle.h , and Honoka @honokamusic set out to surf a very late season South Shore session. They prove to us that no matter what is happening with the weather and conditions, there is always some fun to be found. We've known Hunter since he was 14 years old and we're so proud of him for pursuing this sport as a healthy outlet to stay out of all the trouble that young people can get into living in Hawaii. He's so dedicated and it's amazing to witness the progress that he's made since we first started filming him about 1 year ago. Enjoy the beautiful surf and scenery of Hawaii 🌈🌋🌊🏄🏻🌺

Honoka - yes my good friend Jim West (2021 Grammy award winner - More Guitar Stories) turned me on to her music - wow she has such an amazing voice and such a beautiful way of playing Ukulele. Right when I saw her I thought - Wow this is a lot of right on!!!! Good on ya

I remember the little grass island in the parking lot where Hunter had is board. It had fire ants... ouch!
Thankfully the water didn't look too bad and the gang scored some fun little waves. I surfed out there a few times when the water looked like chololate milk hehe! 🤙

I live next to a lake, the waves are really slow and small but they can get up to 1 metre tall on really windy days. How stupid do you think I’d look trying to ride one? I’m wondering if it’s possible

Without seeming impertinent, can I submit some questions?
- “teal, Waikiki color…” is that a thing or is it a cultural distinction?
- “solid board…” what is the opposite? Is there a “several pieces” board?
- Hunter’s board is squared off in the back. Another board is “pintail.” Advantages/Disadvantages?
- What is “dirty water?” You mean, like, “polluted?”
Asking honestly. I’m a land lubber. (And sorry for it.)
The dirty water is from the run off of the heavy rain. It really is a bad time to surf because the water is very sharky then.🦈

@iambecomepaul You're welcome, Quick story about 20-25 years ago. Had a fight break out there at the harbor and a guy ended up in the harbor in very dirty water. The water was so infectious he ended up dead. The water now at this time they're surfing is nowhere near as dirty as it was then.
On the rear of the board, Ive read that the design can help push you when getting started. Still trying to learn some of this myself.
