Four teams all with roughly the same uniform colors: red and white. Also, the basketball court was trimmed in red because of the UNM Lobos.

I believe in one game, ‘83 team would win!! Houston had as much talent as the ‘74 Pack!! Plus, Valvano much better coach than Sloan!! Sloan did nothing after leaving NC State!! Go Pack!!!

A lot of People may have forgotten that Jimmy V had a Hernia during Most or all of the Tournament---But it Didn't Keep Him jumping around like a Kid after that Win! I walked on as a decathlete at State in 79'--We saw these guys every day on campus, weight room, Athletes Cafeteria, Etc.--One of the Main things I Remember besides How much of a Positive & Personable Individual Coach V was, is the Fact that this Team was Loaded with Humble Players & Handled their Business as far as Putting in the Work to Put themselves in a Position to Have an Opportunity to Win! Of Course, Jimmy V was Absolutely the Domino behind Most of it! Just a Cool Story whether you were there or Not!
"Beat West Virginia by 1" - What? They beat probably the second best team in country - Ralph Sampson's Virginia team by 1. Then of course they beat the best team, Houston (with Clyde Drexler and Akeem Olijuwan) in the title game by 2.
Exactly...I have no idea what he was talking about. And Pepperdine was the 1st round!
Houston was ranked #1 but Virginia might have been the best team in the country. They beat Georgetown. Louisville. NC State twice and Houston
