Ah, here come the JC feels... if we could have just shaken Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng at the right time and sat them together to make them _see_ how much they are willing to do for each other. But no, they would each rather suffer silently on their own, pushing the other away so he would not notice, until it all falls apart around them. And they still cared for each other so much though their parents did such a great job trying to pit them against each other.

I think Jc purposely not telling Wwx about him losing his golden core in the first place was him trying to save Wwx because he also doesn't want Wwx to feel indebted to him. If Wwx know, he might want to go back to Lotus Pier with him. When Ah Ling asked, he said everyone should go back to where they belong. Indicating he now had truly let go of Wwx and not holding him over that promise they made, he had accepted that the place Wwx should go home to is with Lan Zhan at the Cloud Recesses.
Jiang Chen is one of the hardest characters to understand. A lot of people hated him for being jealous over WuXian but we know it's more than that. This is such an amazing edit it makes me want to bawl my eyes out.
jiang cheng literally lost every one he loved yet everyone be hating on him just because he was mad at weiying. weiying is not perfect and he indeed made many mistakes that even jiang cheng had to cover up for his blunders but jiang cheng never stopped caring for weiying. he was jealous, yes. but damn with a mommy like yu furen and a daddy who doesn't give two shits about you and a sister who's too sweet and lovely, one would go crazy. honestly think jiang cheng is one of the best character out there, so complex so real.
JC is very complex and agree a lot but most people don't realize he wasn't jealous, all that shit he used to say were things he didn't mean, that's what he does when he is pissed, he attacks with words he doesn't mean, he used to think his father didn't like it, yeah, but didn't really resent WWX for that, what pisses him off about WWX is some reckless behavior... the problem with JC is that he's got a toxic personality which pushes people away. And also the fact he cares too much about what other people think.

They had grown up together, gone through so much together. How do you forget and let go of such experiences? Such love? He sacrificed so much for Wei Ying, starting from letting go of his dogs when they were younger. You don't do that unless you care for someone deeply. I love him, but he did Jiang Cheng dirty in so many instances. The rudeness and disrespect for his clan leader? Breaking the promises he made? Not trying to restrain himself and always putting others first before his own family? Wei Ying was a victim of circumstances, but he should have tried harder for his siblings' sake. And like Jiang Cheng told him, he should have trusted him enough to tell him about the golden core. These two make me so sad. I wish the author had started them off on the path to reconciliation before the book/ drama ended.
Never hated him, not even once. Maybe I'm just good at understanding people and their feelings. He's just a stubborn and prideful man but he is a man with lots of love especially to his siblings, Yanli and Wei Ying.

Because it is the only edit till date that shows us the actions and viewpoint of jiang cheng, based on the information that HE had, the information that wei wuxian allowed him to see. Jiang cheng : it's not only a character but a feel a struggle for me. I had read the novels nd had watched drama too. Ans everyone seems to see him as a cruel or stone hearted person. I know he is grumpy but it's his mechanism to cope up with things. I love wei wuxian but alla those who said he loathed him can come fight me cause this person had gave in more than ones for wwx. Like when they brought wwx home he has to send his songs away to whom he loves like no one else still he is wrong. He always have to look down because everyone will compare him with his own brother then again he ignored all this and always stood by his side. He even is ready to stand against his mother for him. He lost his parents and became a clan leader when he was so young and after be lost his dear brother and sister too. He even lost a good friend in the form of wen qing. He became an uncle of an infant when he was barely an adult himself with no one on his side. He handled 2 clans singlehandedly (after Jin's assassination because jin ling is too young to handle all that alone). He did all that alone. No one by his side still he is evil. I know he saw disgust towards wwx but it's not because he hated him it's just because he don't know how to show what he is feeling. He too is a mess all along. He too searched for wwx after he was thrown down the cliff. He too had lost a brother , a comrade, a friend, a family that day. But he get neglected just because he shows some dislike towards wwx. When wwx died at least lan zhan has his brother who was always with him but what about jiang cheng. No one cares why because he happened to show his anger. Cause he don't know how to show his love. Sorry I ranted here but I literally love this character for me jiang Cheng and lan xichen suffered too. But the at got unnoticed. I love every character. But these 4 are my most favorite ones
Being set off to be the Clan leader of his Sect at a young age and slowly rebuilding it back up after the deaths of both his parents, the lost of his home and of his people, to then unintentionally getting his golden core ripped out out of fear of also losing a brother (only for him to still lose him AND a sister in the end..). I feel for JC. He’s a very hard character to understand and to love because of the way he has learned to express himself. but nonetheless he is a man with a lot of love - love that he just couldn’t give out due to the circumstances/ the reality in their world. I’m sure if he hadn’t had a lot of expectations to exceed, a whole clan to maintain and keep them up and stable.. he wouldn’t have hesitated too much to help out the Wens. But being a Leader comes a lot of responsibility. No time for yourself or your personal emotions. Ahhh. Thank you so much for this miraculous video! I won’t say I hated him but I won’t say I liked him but I will say he had one of the saddest and heartbreaking stories and is truly such a complex character.

WWX was better than him in many things, but even when WWX messed things up because of his irresponsibility, people always seemed to forgive him for it and still looked favorably upon him. JC kept supporting WWX and tried to defend them in front of others. But it seems like WWX never listened to JC. So when people told him: 'He's important to you, we all know that. But on the contrary, it's hard to say whether he respects you as clan leader.' Can you blame JC for feeling this way, for being severy hurt by this statement and actually believing in it? How many times can you remember that WWX actually listened to what JC told him to do or not to do? Also all the things like showing disrespect by not having his sword with him in ceremonies. Like seriously dude how hard can it be to just bring your sword? What an excuse is it to just say 'I didn't feel like bringing it.' He's a grown up man, that is not responsible behavior, that is disrespectful to others and to JC who asked him multiple times to bring it along. Why can't he just consider JC's position and feelings and at least give JC some face in front of other people! [Of couse we know why he didn't bring the sword along. But if you don't know the reason behind it, he just seems intentionally disrespectful.] Also he always said he had everything under control, but then WWX lost control over Wenning ending up killing Jin Zixuan. Yes we know now that it was not him losing control. But even WWX was convinced it was his own mistake in the beginning. How can you blame JC for not wanting to stand by his side anymore? He couldn't control his weapon and now JC's brother in law is dead, his nephew fatherless, his sister a widow. Even at the end when JC starts to understand the situation better, it's probably difficult to let go of all that blame that he's been carrying along for 16 and more years.

Not many people actually think of them and end up with those black bars on the side when you turn the screen! Secondly, what a masterful placement of scenes! It looks really professional and clean! It's must be hard for him (I think) Since he is the youngest from Yunmeng's sibling -- who act like he don't care anything, who can't express his true feeling easily -- but he must be the clan leader suddenly without enough preparation. His dad and his mom love him of course, but hid dad sometimes seems prefer like Wuxian than him. And his mother try to make him strong with her own way, not a gently way sometimes. With all of his parents do, I feel like I understand how he want to be better than his brother. (Ok, he love his brother so much but it's normal if sometimes he feel uncomfortable and tired since their parents compare them for several times). Maybe that's why when his golden core dissapeared he feel so down. He need it. And he can't act like Wuxian who can more tolerant than him (like Wuxian is more easy to let go anything which is already go) I can't blame him because anything happens has ruin his family and his clan. It's make him lost his parents and change his life. And when he need his brother support, he feel his brother is can't stand beside him anymore, it's feel like he lost his brother too. And of course since he don't know what happens with his brother, what problems that Wuxian have (like need to still alive because he need protect his sister and little brother -- even give his golden core to Jiangcheng -- like Jiang's parents order, the reason why Wuxian play the wicked trick, the reason why Wuxian help Wen's sibling etc) it's normal if Jiangcheng feel angry and sad. And the last part which hurt me so much is that they brothership can't be as good as before even he know the truth about Wuxian's golden core. Honestly, I hope that Wuxian will comeback to Lian Hua Wu. But it won't happen 🤐
I've never been so scared to click play on a video before. I've been going through a strong jiang cheng phase the past couple of weeks and your tributes somehow seem to always follow the characters i'm focusing on at any given time, so when i saw the notification for this video i screamed and just put it off till now because i feared it would hurt - and it did! What a marvellous tribute to an incredibly complex character!
I like how all the characters of Untamed have their own grey area and none are pure white well except for the Lan brothers and people be shitting on JC without understanding his character fully. It is so complex that one can't truly understand him. Even I was not a fan of him while watching the live action version but after I had completed both The untamed and Anime of it, it gave me more clarity of the character

The golden core incident is one of the best written pieces of fiction in the story and it was so well portrayed in this drama. All the actors in the Untamed are exceptional.

Among many other things, this highlights that while we focus on Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, this drama portrays so many different types of love so profoundly. And when Wei Wuxian fights to keep the brother and sister Wen Ning and Wen Qing together, he has to sacrifice his relationship with his own brother. I so hope Jiang Cheng goes on later to be able to live some sort of happy life at peace with himself and others, and maybe even find a partner to help him. Imma go cry quietly in a corner now.

I don’t feel sorry for Jiang Chen’s bc of how he treated the Wen’s siblings despite they’d saved him and wwx. It’s his words “why you defend others, do their lives matter more than ours”. Wei Ying is selfless, while JC is selfish. That’s why I like one and don’t like the other.

I won’t say I hated him but I won’t say I liked him but I will say he had one of the saddest and heartbreaking stories and is truly such a complex character.
I feel so much for this person. Jiang Cheng did so much wrong and was so much human! He is my favorite person (I think I like him even more than WWX lol) but he just gives me so much emotions! :)

He is my favorite to, and lot of people see him as evil, no heart and blah blah blah. Those people cannot understand the presure/expectation that was on is shoulder. Protec WWX when he sided with the Wen? That would have mean putting is barely surviving sect a risque of another war, wich would have ended by Lotus pier burning again

He always stood in the shadow of WWX. WWX was better than him in many things, but even when WWX messed things up because of his irresponsibility, people always seemed to forgive him for it and still looked favorably upon him.
JC kept supporting WWX and tried to defend them in front of others. But it seems like WWX never listened to JC. So when people told him: 'He's important to you, we all know that. But on the contrary, it's hard to say whether he respects you as clan leader.' Can you blame JC for feeling this way, for being severy hurt by this statement and actually believing in it? How many times can you remember that WWX actually listened to what JC told him to do or not to do?
Also all the things like showing disrespect by not having his sword with him in ceremonies. Like seriously dude how hard can it be to just bring your sword? What an excuse is it to just say 'I didn't feel like bringing it.' He's a grown up man, that is not responsible behavior, that is disrespectful to others and to JC who asked him multiple times to bring it along. Why can't he just consider JC's position and feelings and at least give JC some face in front of other people! [Of couse we know why he didn't bring the sword along. But if you don't know the reason behind it, he just seems intentionally disrespectful.]
Also he always said he had everything under control, but then WWX lost control over Wenning ending up killing Jin Zixuan. Yes we know now that it was not him losing control. But even WWX was convinced it was his own mistake in the beginning. How can you blame JC for not wanting to stand by his side anymore? He couldn't control his weapon and now JC's brother in law is dead, his nephew fatherless, his sister a widow.
Even at the end when JC starts to understand the situation better, it's probably difficult to let go of all that blame that he's been carrying along for 16 and more years.

Would they have sit down all three together, tell the truth, it wouldnt have happen T_T That the sad truth, but then we wouldnt have the drama we have.

It's must be hard for him (I think)
Since he is the youngest from Yunmeng's sibling -- who act like he don't care anything, who can't express his true feeling easily -- but he must be the clan leader suddenly without enough preparation.
His dad and his mom love him of course, but hid dad sometimes seems prefer like Wuxian than him. And his mother try to make him strong with her own way, not a gently way sometimes. With all of his parents do, I feel like I understand how he want to be better than his brother. (Ok, he love his brother so much but it's normal if sometimes he feel uncomfortable and tired since their parents compare them for several times). Maybe that's why when his golden core dissapeared he feel so down. He need it. And he can't act like Wuxian who can more tolerant than him (like Wuxian is more easy to let go anything which is already go)
I can't blame him because anything happens has ruin his family and his clan. It's make him lost his parents and change his life. And when he need his brother support, he feel his brother is can't stand beside him anymore, it's feel like he lost his brother too. And of course since he don't know what happens with his brother, what problems that Wuxian have (like need to still alive because he need protect his sister and little brother -- even give his golden core to Jiangcheng -- like Jiang's parents order, the reason why Wuxian play the wicked trick, the reason why Wuxian help Wen's sibling etc) it's normal if Jiangcheng feel angry and sad.
And the last part which hurt me so much is that they brothership can't be as good as before even he know the truth about Wuxian's golden core. Honestly, I hope that Wuxian will comeback to Lian Hua Wu. But it won't happen 🤐
It was hard bt I actually understood how he felt and I never saw him wrong or hated his character, My boy just wanted love ❤️
I've never been so scared to click play on a video before. I've been going through a strong jiang cheng phase the past couple of weeks and your tributes somehow seem to always follow the characters i'm focusing on at any given time, so when i saw the notification for this video i screamed and just put it off till now because i feared it would hurt - and it did! What a marvellous tribute to an incredibly complex character!

I like how all the characters of Untamed have their own grey area and none are pure white well except for the Lan brothers and people be shitting on JC without understanding his character fully. It is so complex that one can't truly understand him. Even I was not a fan of him while watching the live action version but after I had completed both The untamed and Anime of it, it gave me more clarity of the character

The golden core incident is one of the best written pieces of fiction in the story and it was so well portrayed in this drama. All the actors in the Untamed are exceptional.

Among many other things, this highlights that while we focus on Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, this drama portrays so many different types of love so profoundly. And when Wei Wuxian fights to keep the brother and sister Wen Ning and Wen Qing together, he has to sacrifice his relationship with his own brother.
I so hope Jiang Cheng goes on later to be able to live some sort of happy life at peace with himself and others, and maybe even find a partner to help him. Imma go cry quietly in a corner now.
