  • Woodturning is a captivating craft that allows artisans to transform raw timber into exquisite pieces of art. Using a Record Power Coronet Herald wood lathe, the process of creating a Pot Pourri bowl becomes a delightful adventure. Equipped with carbide woodturning tools from Easy Wood Tools, precision and control are at the turner's fingertips. With a steady hand and keen eye, the bowl takes shape, revealing its graceful curves and intricate design. To enhance its natural beauty, vibrant hues of red, orange, and yellow spirit stains are carefully applied, infusing the wood with warmth and character. The final touches involve the application of Yorkshire Grit, a versatile abrasive paste that lends a lustrous finish, followed by a coat of microcrystalline wax, which protects and enhances the wood's rich colors. The result is a stunning Pot Pourri bowl that showcases the harmonious fusion of craftsmanship and artistic vision.

    Very nice JP. That spalted beech really had some great figure and the spirit stains didn't cover that up. Nice shape as well.

    Great job. Love the colors and the way the black lines are when it’s spalted. That lathe did you justice. You definitely got your money’s worth out of it. It’s hard to say goodbye to an old friend, especially since you know how it works so well.. But on to bigger and better things. Maybe it’s time for the new intro with the new lathe 😂.. 🍻👍

    • @jpwoodwork
      @jpwoodwork  Год назад +1

      If you have carbide tip then just get replacement tips, if you have gouges see if you can find someone or a service that can sharpen them for you, don’t go buying a new set of tools

      I don’t sell carbide tools, I just use them, and plenty of woodturners are using them….Mainly for deep hollowing
