This is a neat game. Love the fact that you can assimilate the enemy mecha. Gives you a ton of variety of different gun types to choose from and see which will be your favourite. Honestly, I'd love to see an arcade archive of this and maybe even a rrmastered/remake. This is one of those games that has that potential to become a great hits.

Funny fucker. The focus in a project like this never lies on the ending. With small budgets it's all about getting the gameplay working just right. Everything else is a bonus.
Did some digging around and it turns out there's actually one boss encounter not accounted for! Stage 5 has a sub-boss fight with one of the tanks from Stage 4's Twin Tanks boss; it has the same attacks as before, but it's actively running away now and there's big walls scrolling across where the upper tank used to be. It may be fair enough that ye didn't include it since there isn't actually MUCH difference but This isn't a cry against your video either, it's how I was introduced to this underrated game to begin with
This game is so clearly inspired by the R-Type games that came before it. How everything animates, the sound design, the look and design of the bosses...it's as if R-Type just had new sprites swapped in.
I like the fact that you have a youtuber that plays all of the arcade games like you Shadowserg. Do you use an emulator like MAME because if so I would like to also make arcade gameplays as well so that we both may make a good Collaboration.
The game is called BlaZeon. It's a mech game. One of the main factions in Gundam is called Zeon. Gundam is a mecha anime series. The fighter at the beginning looks like the core fighter from the original 1979 Gundam series. COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT!

i find it weird that half the bosses in this game seem kinda lame in design compared to everything else in the game. Mainly the cores, Bio Mutant and for the most part the Alien Emperor.

What incredible intro, one of the best in an arcade game ever I'd say. A significant chunk of the game's production budget must have gone there.

Yeah, Atlus was being pretty blatant about the enemy during 12:07: surely that could NOT have been the RX-93 Nu Gundam with two fin funnels.

It's wild just how neutered the snes port of this game is. Very slow, and plenty of empty moments in the levels. Great redone music though.
