What an episode. Mark and Joy are just bizarre, and of course they hate each other, because they're not that different. Lachlan's "I don't allow riffraff into my house" is awful too, but at least he didn't say it to the guests' face. Koa at least seems like a nice person, too bad she got stuck with this lot.
Am I the only who thinks Joy was absolutely delightful ? She was adorable to everyone except to the one person who wasn't deserving of her positivity. I find it somewhat incredible she's gone through all these year staying as empathetic and generous with peeps. Mad love to you Joy, if you're reading this ! xxx

Mark was right, Lachians "dream" wasn't a true dream but I understand him guarding his heart. I wish him well, the material path is good for comfort and can help get things done quicker but its not the real riches of life. A life lived for the material is deeply sad.

Koa is beautiful inside and out. I like the way she eats. She enjoys her food. People like Koa are fun to be around. Lachlan is full of himself. Joy and Mark could use some counseling.

I will never understand people cooking something new for a group in such a program. I have some 20 recipes I know they work great, because I made them often enough to know most of my guests will at least like or even love them. And my wine collection will add to the atmosphere.
I used to try out new recipes for when my mother-in-law was coming for dinner. I'm South African & she was upper crust British. I tried new recipes everyday, so it wasn't a stress factor. But she was always worrying whether I would approve of what she was cooking for when I came around. She actually boasted to her friends about my dinners. Coming from her was hard-won praise. It just takes a bit of confidence

The Australian version is too long. 5 people, 20 minutes per episode still but they get 1 episode each. I prefer the British version that gets straight to the point.
Lachlan's singing was sublime. Apart from that this was a rather strange episode of C DWM. Mark has a huge chip on his shoulder, Lachlan should loosen up a bit; Koa was gauche and funny, and Joy was gauche and a bit mean.

I am a actual qualified chef. high content potato starchy is the only way to go. High-starch, thick-skinned potatoes, like Russets, fall apart during the cooking process, mash up light and fluffy, and absorb butter and cream like a dream. Mashing the other types of potatoes will result in a gummy, gluey texture...
