John - Do you prefer the taste of the smaller or larger mussels? A Florida friend says the larger they get, the tougher the meat but I don't have that much experience with eating them except in stews or chowders. I'm fairly certain their growing environment also flavors the meat, but that's my take anyway.
Some of my favorite videos. I've been interested in foraging for a while, and as a guy from round your way, it brings me a lot of joy seeing you find and explain all of the amazing life we have in the UK. As well as cooking up some of our amazing wildlife! You're an excellent teacher and a joy to watch.
Once again excellent work. Your "Take Five" slogan is very clever. RailTrack and TFL should have it on all forms of transport!! Fantastic recipe. Yummy 😋.

I discovered your channel around winter 2019-2020. I am not a big commenter on the channel but after all this time I wanted to write that this channel brings me pure joy. Whether I am watching you with your beautiful wife and handsome little James cooking up some shelfish at the beach, or diving for some crabs or just as in this video, looking for mussels, teaching how to respect marine life over and over while I am on a train or at home cooking lunch or while we are having breakfast with my family. I was born into the sea and marine life was always a part of my life as daughter of a diver and niece of a marine biologist. It makes me so happy that many people can experience the beauty of grow affection to marine life, through your channel. Hope you keep doing what you do! Best from Italy! Also, always great to see Jim at the channel! We picked up some delicious recipes from him and tried at home 🧑🏻🍳
Thank you for the wonderful comment. I am very glad to hear you enjoy the range of content we produce and that the videos are interesting to you. Have a wonderful day and take care. 😊

Your philosophy in life is wonderful. My mom and dad (a teacher and a farmer respectively) raised me the same way. Never take too much and always respect everyone and everything around you. Speaking of my parents, they've recently tried using food scraps in a different manner. Instead of throwing them straight into the compost, they chop them into small pieces and soak them in water for at least 24 hours. They then use the liquid to water our plants while the scraps are then composted. The results have been wonderful on our vegetables, as they have started to produce more flowers than normal.
I really look forward to your videos. This one was brilliant, from the beach to the table, and my mouth is still watering with all the smells and tastes of what I think it should be. Thanks so much for sharing. It's totally awesome.

It's good you not only take from the sea you also give by helping to keep it clean by picking up any rubbish and fishing line. More people should follow your lead, it has made me more aware after watching you.
Even if you're landlocked in the desert like I am you can contribute. When I walk my dog I take a reusable grocery bag and we troll for recyclables. I usually have a bagful by the time we reach the park, leave them in a recycling bin and pick up anther bagful on the way home. Now, if I could only get the dog to start helping me instead of just sniffing everything and going headlong to her favorite green space!
