Fantastic! Remember 1984 very well indeed and watching the action regularly at South Kenton in London, the variety of traffic was awesome and knocks the spots off today's bland railway scene.
Really, that was great stuff. I was around in 1984 catching all those numbers in the Bletchley area. I never forget how busy it was and how enjoyable it was to see so much different traction on the line.
Great video, look at Bescot nowadays, nothing but a dumping ground for ballast, compared to your shots of 1984. It was a pleasure then to be able to walk around the holding sidings taking photo's etc, thanks for sharing, it's a like, cheers...Bill

Fascinating seeing the varying combinations of Mk1/2/3 coaches, with brakes and GUVs from the days before fixed formation sets.
Absolute joy to watch .many thanks for sharing this lovely video .

Great footage and lots of happy memories, thanks for uploading this
Nice to see class 87s with the cross arm pantographs, suited them much better than the high speed ones.
Great footage there, the good old days of the railway, when things were British, not German, Italian, Spanish and Canadian. Liked and faved :)

HI to everyone thank you for your kind comments and feed back.
Hi
Yes I have, and more has been put on.
It's a shame that we didnt have HD camcorders back then.
Thanks for the Comment
The best years of Loco spotting, Shame we have all the boring units now.
Such a variety of motive power. Not like today where it now almost all units :-(
Great video !
The video quality really isn't that bad considering it was 1984! Great sound quality as well.
Classic footage. I'm hoping you'll upload more, preferably of more diesel traction from around that time!
Excellent stuff..thanks Steve..
Great AC br blue footage. Them were the days....the WCML heyday.
When you could whisk thru the Lune Gorge sat in an orange bucket seat😃
Good stuff - 87101 on the down slow at 5:58....?
Many thanks!
Nice Ac traction in BR blue - LIked
Heaven.......................
Oh for a Tardis
To be back there😊
I Have more to come, but its going to take time to find the tapes
superb, but remind me, what were HSTs doing on the WCML in 1984?
pnemickey1 - HST's would have been doing a daily XC service from the South West to either Manchester and/or Liverpool 👍🏽😊
London Euston to Chester and Holyhead as well?
Such a bustling time on BR nice to see a Rat at work too. Only the Watford Gap section was shut in December 85. Boo.
